The best part of our stay here was the super thoughtful, detailed and helpful information the owner shared with us regarding walking the 88 temples pilgrims route. He made reservations for us in the beginning and also at the end of our 10 day visit. This was invaluable and above and beyond. The first time we stayed in a private room, which I recommend over the dorm for noise reasons. Everything was clean and well organized in the guest house. Location is fine but not super for checking out the town. If you are walking the Henro it’s a lovely place to stop.

Sad I only stayed one night! The owner was so kind and interesting to speak with. The inn has a very homey energy and it was easy to make friends in the main living room area. The facilities were also immaculate! I will definitely be returning

It's a reasonable distance from the downtown area, but the udon restaurant that received the most reviews was within walking distance and the breakfast was great! …

Thank you for your help during my solo trip around Shikoku.First of all, when I checked in, I was very nervous and opened the front door with trepidation. That's because it was a place I had always wanted to visit, more than any other tourist attraction. But that tension quickly melted away. That's because it was a relaxing space, just like my own home. And maybe it was because it was so hot, but the barley tea they served me was so delicious that it soaked into my bones. During my stay, I drank from a large mug every morning and evening. I'm sorry I drank a lot.Since we didn't have any plans for the trip, we received Mr. Takeshi's counseling and had a strategy meeting. As you can see by actually following the process, it was a complete success. It is custom-made, and Mr. Takeshi's brain and sharp thinking are truly amazing. The deviation value is in the 70s.When I arrived at Wakabaya-san, my phone was low on battery, so I was able to charge it using the charger in the living room while having the strategy meeting.Next is the room. 5S is thoroughly implemented not only in the rooms but also in all spaces. The spirit of the JICA Cooperation Volunteers has been inherited. The first impression is that it feels good! is.Thank goodness for the clothesline wire in the room. The futon was comfortable and I had a great sleep. The sheets tend to fall apart as the days go by, but the sheets did not fall apart for 4 nights from the time I checked in.Maybe it's because I sleep well (lol). And then there's the toilet. It smells good. Everyone, please give it a try. And there's a trick. I was so engrossed in reading that I couldn't even come up with anything.Next is the bath. I ended up going into the bathroom without a towel, but the device that noticed this before I was completely naked helped me. thank you. What's more, the rinse-in shampoo provided didn't make my hair squishy when I dried it, which was the first time I've ever used shampoo at a hotel.Next is the hair dryer. One concern at the guesthouse was the noise this machine made. However, when it is turned on, it is not noisy. The sink in the bathroom is large and easy to use. Mr. Sato was also concerned about how to deal with hair loss, so the bathroom is equipped with a quick wiper.Wow, that's all I can do.Expressed in this dialect, it means "tamagemasu".And a travel brochure. It's like a library. It seems that they are recruiting nurses on Shodoshima. I put that pamphlet in there too (lol). Also, even though I had completed Yashima on the last day, the intense heat and the hellish stairs at Kotohira Shrine were so painful that when I returned to Wakabaya, I couldn't help but exclaim, ``It's tough!'' . At that time, Mr. Takeshi welcomed me and said, ``Welcome back, I know it must have been hard for you,'' and I felt relieved from the pain. But I will never go to Kotohira Shrine again. (crying) (lol)Finally, I met a traveler. I made my guesthouse debut on a solo trip around Shikoku. At night, we all had drinks together, we made udon noodles for a Swiss person and ate them together, and we folded a helmet and a crane for a 3-year-old girl from London. The experience will be a memory that will last a lifetime.(You may not have understood much, but I actually love children.)Before going to Shikoku, I prepared many times using the ``travel tips'' listed on Wakabaya's website. Thanks to you, I was able to complete the trip around Shikoku. As a geographer, there are still many places I want to go.Would it be okay if I visited Shikoku with an atlas in hand and stayed at Wakabaya? (Did I say I was banned?)If Shikoku is nearby. . (crying)S-chan, please ask Doraemon. Let me use that door.As for traveling around the world, ummm... yes.Mr. Takeshi, I'm coming back.Next time I go, I would like to see the world heritage sites together with the atlas.I sincerely pray for the healthy growth of Take-san's child.thank you very much.

I usually stay in a variety of accommodations depending on my travel style, from star hotels to cheap hotels, and Wakabaya is definitely one of the best in terms of cleanliness, hospitality, and cost performance. I think so.First of all, the sightseeing advice from the owner, Mr. Wakamiya, is excellent. It's a good idea for anyone coming to Takamatsu for the first time to stay here and ask questions. We stayed with you for a total of 3 nights as a base for island hopping, and thanks to you, we were able to enjoy Takamatsu to the fullest from the first day we arrived until the last day. From a traveler's perspective, there are shelves in the room to put small things on (very important), and there is plastic wrap in the kitchen that you can use freely (super convenient for storing leftovers from cooking). I'm reaching for it. As expected, I was impressed that this inn was run by a family who had traveled all over the world. Also, the children and the owner couple come in and out often, so it's lively and safe, and I even had my 2-year-old daughter play with me, so I was really taken care of during my stay. I really think it's a wonderful guesthouse with good ventilation and a warm atmosphere. It's a little far from the center, but it's not a problem as it's close to the bus stop and station. In fact, it's much more convenient than business hotels that claim to be within walking distance of Takamatsu Station. And if you rent a car, parking is free. I think this is also sensible. What is a guest house? For those who say so, it would be a good idea to stay at Wakabaya at least once. How comfortable is this for this price? And how can you be this kind? I think you will be surprised. We will only stay here again in Takamatsu. I will definitely visit again. I'll bring wine again then. thank you very much!

I learned through Lonely Planet that I was lucky enough to stay at the B&B Wakaba House from August 18th to 22nd, 2024. The boss speaks very good English, is kind and enthusiastic, and has been to China many times. The B&B provides free towels and bath towels, as well as barley tea to relieve the heat in summer! Microwave ovens, induction cookers and kettles are all available, and there is also a wealth of information on tourist attractions. In particular, the owner’s route planning ability is believed to bring an excellent Takamatsu travel experience to every guest staying at the B&B. There is the Kotohira Electric Railway (Garden Station) near the B&B, and you can also rent a bicycle provided by the owner to explore. It takes about an hour from the B&B to the airport and requires rail and bus connections. Special thanks to the boss for taking care of me during this period. Next time I come to Takamatsu, this place will still be my first choice!

We stayed here on a family trip with 2 adults and 3 children (1st year of middle school and 3rd year of elementary school twins)! It was very neat and clean and felt comfortable. It was also very popular with children who like Japanese style. There was a separate shower room next to the bath, and we used the shower.I didn't use it because I was only there for one night, but there was a washing machine, dryer, and a clothesline in the room, and they even had bicycles for rent. It gives the impression that it has everything!Everyone staying there kept it clean and had a very comfortable stay.I would have liked to have stayed the night with you and talked about more things. The owner will also give you information about the surrounding area, so we recommend staying there at the beginning of your trip!I would like to stay here again when I go to Shikoku!
