Whilst it was safe and comfortable, this really is not a clean place.❌The floors are dirty so you can’t walk barefoot,❌ The shower has a broken head, the floors and walls are dirty❌ The sinks have a sulfuric smell when in use❌ The showers and toilets are inside the lobby, so when you come out in a towel, the street can see you, as can anyone in the main room of the hostel❌ it’s very small, with a tiny sofa in the main room❌ there are no windows in the bedroom❌ every surface and wall and handle was dirty, and I’m not a germaphobe by any means. Even the mirror about the sinks was full of water marks and toothpaste etc❌ the light switch for the bedroom is in the main room, by the front doorThat being said, the positives are✅ The workers were kind and polite✅ I was able to easily book a lift to the harbour✅ the lockers are big and can fit lots in✅ there is a changing area, though it’s just a curtain you pull across✅ the WiFi was good✅ they provide cooled water through a filter✅ It was safe, with keycard access and a key for your lockerI used this place just to sleep, and I think that’s what it’s there for. Don’t expect somewhere to relax in the day, go to Cactus Beach Club or The Chill which are just 8-10 mins down the road on a scooter!

I loved my stay in Write hostel! The staff is genuine, helpful and incredibly kind. I even got dropped off at the harbor for free! The beds are really comfy and so nice to have my own curtain. Big lockers too! The value for money is really good. I did not realize how much I had missed the intimate atmosphere of a living room where I can just chill on the couch with a cup of tea, until I arrived at this hostel. Thank you for making my stay the best!

Very nice hostel and the staff very friendly and kind. Very helpful staff. Close to many restaurants. It’s a 8 beds hostel so maybe difficult if you are a solo traveller to share activities (if you don’t drive) but found people.

Very good hostel!! They only have one room so it’s a small hostel which makes it easier to get to know new people. The dorm is really clean and the beds are super comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff, you can rent scooters here.

This little hostel has big advantages. The only dorm is spacious and has 8 beds with curtains for privacy. Very easy to meet other travelers here. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to help make your stay as memorable as possible!

This hostel wasn’t really what we expected but maybe we didn’t read enough reviews… it only had 1 room of 8 and one tiny lobby. It smelt pretty bad which I think was a mixture of aircon and the toilets but it was quite inescapable. We decided to just stay 1 night instead of 2 as there’s not a lot to do in the surrounding areas. You can however rent a bike for about 70k a day which is cheap

Amazing place for backpackers!
They have everything: shower, towels, hairdryer, tea and coffee. Clean place with friendly staff. Stayed there during the lockdown, so was absolutely alone. Stayed like in hotel)

Surprisingly from the outside this Hotel look small, but after you enter you will find out that it looks spacious, like all you need it fit in there by their choices of furniture and design. the bunk bed even have walls to separate, so even though it mixed with male and female, it doesnt matter,and it rarely found in the hostel around Nusa Penida. I found myself very cozy to sit in the living room watching tv and enjoy my cup of tea that provided by the host after long walk circling the island, you also can use the high chair in the terrace while socialize with the surrounding and the neighbour.

Our friend stayed here and we came to visit sometimes and booked tours through Write hostel. I have to say that this is one of the best hostels I’ve ever come across - the staff were the friendliest people ever. They helped us with everything, made us feel welcome although we didn’t stay there! It’s a very small hostel, only one room so if you’re looking to make friends, this is the place for you! It’s like a little family there. The room is nice and clean and my friend told me that the breakfast was amazing. Please stay at Write Hostel if you’re in nusa penida!! I’m considering coming back to nusa penida only to stay there myself one day haha

After posting a negative opinion and a rating of 4.8 / 10 on hostelworld (especially because of the cleanliness), I was harassed (several messages on Instagram, comments, mails, sms, ...) and threatened by the owner of the establishment (which so far had been very nice). I am shocked by the behavior and I understand better why the ratings are so good for this youth hostel.
