I stayed here by myself after returning from touring.I felt nostalgic about overseas backpacker accommodations and enjoyed interacting with them. Recommended for those who are used to it.I also appreciate that the garage has a roof.I came after visiting the hot springs, so I didn't take a shower.I came here after shopping at a nearby convenience store.Located in a quiet residential area.

GOOD:· It's a cute guesthouse with original design and nice decoration. Artsy, hippie and traditonal japanese house atmosphere at the same time. Also the owner is very friendly and chats with all of his guests and gives tipps about the region etc. The common room is spacious and a good place to hang out and chat with other guests. You can also use the kitchen to cook. There is free tea and coffee. The 6-bed-dorm is fine and clean in general. Good location around 1 km from Kawaguchiko, good walking distance and a bus station is nearby.BAD:· The walls are quite thin, so sometimes you need to ask the neighbour room's guests to be quiet at night. Also, there was a volunteer (He didn't pay for his accommodation) in the dorm who behaved entitled ranting very angrily about me needing the light for just 20 min in the dorm in order to pack my bag at 22:30.All in all my stay was fine, but as a student, I find the price of 4500 yen (~30 USD) per night way too expensive for only a dorm bed (no breakfast included). That's a LOT of money in Japan and I stayed 2 nights, so hardly affordable for low budget backpackers 😞

A dream hostel!!! The very accommodating host family lives their (not typical Japanese) life among the guests. There is a chilled atmosphere and everything is uncomplicated.

Great hostal and the guy who runs it is super cool, just wanted to relate the story that the person on the lower bunk of my bed decided it was okey to take a phone call - from his bed - at 5:45am. Never had that happen before
