The hotel has amazing view! That’s it. That’s everything this hotel has.We arrived at 20:04 at the staff told us it’s too late and no dinner for us, they offered instant ramen. The nearest restaurant is 30 min drive. The rooms are horrible, the beds are not beds, it is only a mattress on the floor and it’s hard as wood. The staff are rude and unpleasant at any time.

Very nice quiet area. Great service and very friendly staff. The whole hotel is a bit old, but since you only spend the nights there, that doesn't bother you. Rooms are clean. The hotel is entered without shoes and offers a sauna (3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) and indoor and outdoor hot baths (3:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.).Unfortunately, without a car, restaurants and combinations are difficult or impossible to reach. I was traveling by car, which is why I was always able to move around spontaneously.Restaurants close very early, so we always had to get something from a Konbini (10 minute drive)Anyone who sees Mount Fuji has to be prepared for the fact that this is not always possible.I have been to Japan 8 times now and I was only able to admire it in its full splendor once (December 2019) from Tokyo.Despite everything, we spent very relaxing days in the nature around Mount Fuji. <3

The old-fashioned Japanese inn near Lake Shojin is like the hometown of grandparents, with traditional tatami mats, spotless floors, and comfortable bathhouses. It feels very nostalgic. What’s more important is that the view outside the window is so beautiful. It was the cherry blossom season when I visited. I thought I couldn’t see Mount Fuji, but the moment the clouds cleared, I saw the white head of Mount Fuji, the ripples of Lake Shoji and the cherry blossoms. I opened the window and could see it. It was so happy. .The next morning there was a morning run around the lake. It was a great morning. After the run, I just went to the bathhouse to take a bath and have a hearty breakfast. The boss seemed to be able to tell that I had a big appetite and even helped me add rice.As an aside, there is an art gallery inside the museum which is very cool. It displays a photo exhibition of Mount Fuji over the years. Could it be that the boss wants to display the photos, but actually opening the hotel is just a convenience XDHowever, the location requires driving to reach it, but it is very worthwhile and you don’t have to live in Lake Kawaguchi, which is a crowded place.

Deep disappointment regarding this hotel.Traditional rooms are comfortable and we had the chance to get a view on Fuji.In term of positive points, that’s all.Staffs are rude, no English speakers, you cannot decide when you want to have a diner or breakfast: receptionist will tell you “come at 7:00 pm” or “come at 8:00 am” and it’s impossible to arrange according your own schedule or… whish! In addition, the menu is very limited, first evening they suggested us only one possibility at 3500 yens for almost enough foods at the end of the meal.We need to pay after each meal, not during the check out: after breakfast, after diner, for a bottle of water, etc. (what hotel doesn’t prepare an overall bill at the end of the stay ?!)And last but not least, commun spaces are old, used and definitely need to be renewed. As conclusion an old place locked in the past, without spirit or warm: you will be here for the sleep and pay.

Beds and carpet not clean, even dirty. The view of Fuji is there but not at all as said, there is a big gray balcony and we had the pleasure of having a big wall to our right which hid part of the landscape. The air conditioning is poor, I received 9 bites on my legs and arms in 2 nights and the stains on the floor make me want to vomit, I can't imagine their origin. The tables were not washed either. For 130€ per night, the most expensive of our stay, we could have had much better for half that.PS: The stains on the photos are not the worst

Rarely have I had such a dirty hotel in Japan. Dirty, dirty carpets. Dirty, unkempt room with insects. Sad.|The service left much to be desired. …

I was given only one key to the room. Having one key is inconvenient for two couples to take a bath in the public bath. Additionally, there were no amenities in the room other than a toothbrush. There were no items that would normally be found in the sink, such as shower caps, hair bands, shavers, and cotton swabs. Is it to save money?Everything smelled like mold, not only in the room but also in the reception and common hallways. The food was especially bad.I have no recollection of the taste of the meal. The reason for this is that even before the taste, there were serious hygiene issues. There are a lot of small flies in the dining room, and no matter how hard I try to get rid of them, they keep flying around. It was not an environment where you could eat in peace. All the employees must have noticed that there were a lot of flies flying around, but they didn't seem to pay any attention to it. Is it because Japanese people have a different way of thinking about hygiene? There is no possibility of visiting again.
