Although the building is a little dated, you can see Lake Kawaguchi right in front of you and Mt. Fuji from the rooftop.The bathroom is small and can accommodate up to 5 people. . .The shower output is small, and the shampoo is a rinse-in type, so if you are concerned about that, you may want to bring your own.There is no toilet or bath in the room.A hair dryer is installed in the washroom.The owner is kind and very kind.The quantity and quality of the food exceeds the price.If you are used to hotel breakfast buffets, please come and have breakfast here!This is breakfast! Luxurious from the morning! You will be surprisedIt's even more seriously delicious!☆*´∀`)ﾉ *

Average ryokan located directly on the lake. We paid 30k yen for it - this price is certainly too high for what it was.No bathroom in room - 2 female toilets for the whole hotel. 3 sinks for ALL guests to share.The futons were charming but we had to make them up when we arrived. Walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors talking and walking around.Restaurants in the area are alright - we had pretty decent Yakiniku but there aren’t too many other options.Breakfast was traditional Japanese and quite big.They run a propane heater in the common spaces so sometimes reception smells of propane. I’d pay no more than 18k for this stay. It’s a small step up from hostel living. Views are nice though!

Cool traditional room with tatami mats. Bath area was reasonable and typical shared area.Depending what room you get, you can see Fuji from your room window (I was room 13). There's also a roof area you can sit and look at Fuji from.Location is good but not too close to the station. About a 29min walk from Kawaguchiko station. Down the street from the bridge going across the lake. Lots of Fuji views that way (I rode a bike).

Great little Ryokan right next to lake kawaguchigo. They have the option of a traditional breakfast which i highly recommend. Rooms are clean and spacious. Onsen is a gender split onsen. The inn seems to be run by a cute japanese couple who provide only the best of customer service.

We spent one night in this ryokan. The location is excellent and the view from our room of Mount Fuji, which appeared when the curtains were pulled back in the early morning, was breathtaking. Breakfast, served in a beautiful room with tatami mats and large windows with a view, was plentiful and in true Japanese style. We particularly enjoyed the nabe (Hot pot), delicious! The owners are a little rough on first impressions but they turned out to be very nice and helpful. The rooms are a little cold (just in terms of temperature!) but there is heating in the room and a heater in the entrance. The onsen is indoors, without infamy or praise. I would recommend it to those who, like us, are looking for an authentic ryokan, a convenient location with a beautiful view of Mount Fuji and who places great importance on breakfast and traditions.

Highly recommended ryokan run by a very friendly family. The rooms are typical of a ryokan. The location and facilities are good, the breakfast is very very good compared to other ryokan. Families with (small) children/are treated warmly here.

The price is very expensive for a rather large room, but very small for 6 people!Holes in the curtains, everything very old and rather in poor condition.There were missing sheets, I had to go down to reception many times, the door didn't close properly either... In our case the reception was also very average.

An average ryokan that is best known for having good views of Fuji from the inside. However, having good views of Fuji is hardly special for Lake Kawaguchiko. Serviceable with some heart, but I would look for other ryokans in the area.During my stay, it seems that there was only one proprietor handling the ryokan. He was very friendly and helpful, but may have been overworked.The indoors public bath was incredibly small (could fit at most 4 men at a time) and felt a little dirty.Bedding is not entirely clean. I found quite a few strands of hair of different lengths in the bedsheets. The room curtains and tatami mat have tears and holes. Doors are difficult to properly close. Bathrooms are separated from rooms and the toilet stalls are very small.Breakfast was decent, nothing too fancy, but good enough. You will be told what time breakfast will be served (8AM in my case). Please notify the owner if you intend to skip breakfast.There are no locations for dinner nearby - you will have to walk in the dark for at least 10 minutes to the closest restaurant.

We had a great stay at Akaishi. The room was large and had all we needed and the onsen was lovely. For breakfast the owners made us a wonderful vegetarian meal and we then got dropped back at the station. Had a brief view of Fuji-san from the rooftop lookout.

Run by the nicest couple I think I’ve ever met. I showed up past check in time and they gave me a gigantic favour and made sure I got there. wonderful service, wonderful location. 10/10 would highly highly recommend staying here. Onsen is amazing and the breakfast is one of the best I’ve had in Japan. If you’re thinking of staying here, do it.

Nice rooms, relaxing bath, friendly staff, and beautiful view of Mt. Fuji from the rooftop. Personal nitpick, but the sink seemed to only have cold water, plus being on opposite end of room from toilet which lacked a bidet. Would still highly recommend staying.

Traditional Japanese inn, simple but very pleasant to spend a few nights there. Room on tatami mats and night on futons. The Onsen is very nice. Special mention for the view from the terrace (when the weather is nice)!

Welcoming owner. Unfortunately the thinness/insulation of the walls means that we can hear absolutely everything.Add to this uncivilized customers and you will get very short nights which can spoil your stay.For information, fell asleep at 1 a.m. because a group/family was making noise (TV or talking loudly). Wake up at 4:30 a.m. because someone was talking loudly in the hallway, left the front door open with a fairly violent wind causing it to slam incessantly (but the people don't care about the others and continue to come and go, leaving the door slammed every 30 seconds, walking loudly in the corridor and speaking without whispering) After getting up twice to close it, I gave up because people opened it again a few minutes later in their incessant coming and going.In short, in order not to come into conflict with the locals, I decided to prepare for the rest of my trip and will enjoy a more relaxing place this evening.Aside from the lack of civility among guests, the hotel offers a really nice onsen which allows you to relax. First experience on futons which gave a lot of charm to the stay.However, the 3/4 hours of sleep for 2 nights which ruined my days took a toll on my grade.
