The owners are really cute, they made sure we were comfortable and pleasant, there is a clean shared shower with times that are determined in advance so it is very convenient. A quiet and calm place near the lake, you can walk around and see Fuji.Really beautiful clean and cozy room with tatami floor and futons. When we needed to buy a bus ticket to Tokyo, the owners helped us figure out the best way and drove us to buy a ticket.Highly recommend!

We chose Lake Yamaka for its tranquility and the view of Mount Fuji. Arriving at Kounso, we were really well received by the owner couple. They used their cell phones to communicate more easily with us, we did the same and it went very well. The room was clean, large, bikes were available to us. The tour of the lake can be done in less than an hour, representing 15 km. There are superb views of the lake and Mount Fuji (if the clouds are willing to leave).Choose your bath time, they will prepare one of their rooms and enjoy it in private. At the end of our stay they helped us with our transport to Kyoto by making taxi and passenger bus reservations for us, thank you again 🤩. Superb experience, I highly recommend this ryokan! For those who want to see cherry blossoms, note that near Mount Fuji they bloom later than in Tokyo. We saw plenty of them 🤩.

This is where we stayed for 2 nights during our trip to Lake Kawaguchi. We arrived a little late on the first day, but the room was just as we imagined. It was very Japanese-style, with a kotatsu table and a stove, just like returning to early Japan. Shifen likes the nostalgic style because I live in a Japanese-style room and have to make my own bed, which is also a very special experience. The boss was very enthusiastic and helpful in introducing the environment, including introducing surrounding restaurants and tourist attractions, and also provided us with any assistance we needed. To take a bath in the evening, you need to reserve a bathhouse and time slot. In the morning, it is open to public pools for men and women. The two bathhouses have different styles. On the second day, you can bathe in a bathhouse with a view of Mount Fuji and the feeling of using a medicinal bath. It is very It's comfortable, and the staff will clean it up between the next group of people, so you don't have to worry about hygiene.Highly recommended. The only drawback is that since it is a B&B, there is no elevator and you have to carry your luggage by yourself 😂

Stayed here for 2 nights. The spacious Japanese-style room also had a view of Lake Yamanaka from the window. The futon was comfortable and I slept well. There is a large communal bath, but it was nice because we had a set time and could relax in it privately. There are not many rooms, so you can spend a quiet time. The location is right in front of Lake Yamanaka. The scenic spot where you can see the sunrise and sunset of Mt. Fuji was also about a 10-minute drive away.

Despite nice old lady host, I would not recommend this hotel (ryokan) because1. Bad smell2. Room is too old / poor bed3. Poor facilities / bathroom / heater4. Toilet is bad and mix of male & femaleOnly good thing about is they provide bicycle to spin around Yamanaka Lake and it’s in front of the lakeThen find somewhere else is better
