I made a reservation through Agoda, but my child got injured and I couldn't make it. I canceled my reservation 10 days in advance, but was told that the mileage I paid in advance would not be refunded. Agoda tried to contact us, but they refused, and when I called them directly, they refused to accept any requests. He keeps talking unilaterally and doesn't seem to listen to me at all, as if he's interrupting what I'm saying. When I continued talking to interrupt the conversation, I was told that I would be filing a complaint with Agoda. He seemed to have no humanity at all, and seemed to only care about money. For flights, rental cars, and alternative hotels, there were no cancellation fees and all advance payments were refunded. Not everything was like this in Rusutsu. I made a reservation from Agoda, but my child got injured and I couldn't go. I canceled 10 days ago, but it was said that all the mileage paid in advance will not be refunded. I got a call from Agoda, but it was no good, and when I called directly from myself, they didn't accept it at all. He doesn't seem to continue to talk unilaterally to interrupt my conversation and listen to me at all. When I kept talking in order to interrupt the conversation, he said that he would make a complaint to Agoda. He didn't seem to be human at all, so he seemed to be only thinking about money. All airplanes, rental cars, and other hotels were not charged for cancellation fees , and the amount paid in advance was also refunded. Not everything in Rusutsu was like this.

It is a hostel experience. 1 bathroom and 1 shower for everyone (in separate rooms). Shower water runs hot. Wifi. Tapas type restaurant on 1st floor. Dinged 1 star due to mattress being so thin, it hurt my hip bones, as I am a side sleeper. Please add a little more padding for side sleepers.

Waited close to 2 hours for them to bring out a mountain of sprouts and a pile of frozen solid, fatty beef offcuts that I wouldn’t give to my dog. Didn’t bother eating, walked out.*Chef almost lost fingers attempting to cut up said frozen meat

Super affordable, friendly staff, couple minutes walk to the slopes. Food is great too big shout out to Shota, Katsuya, and Kenta in particular great bunch of guys

Awesome place, affordable rooms and restaurant. Staff are really nice, Shota is the man. Kareoke pops off and great place to meet fellow travelers. Literally 3 minute walk to the slopes couldn’t be better for the price range.

Amazing team of people, loved them all and made our long stay at rusutsu welcoming and homely.You cannot beat this location for the price, walking distance from the resort and some of the best powder in Japan.

It's a 3-minute walk from the Rusutsu slopes, and there are convenience stores and several restaurants nearby, so the location is good.On the other hand, it is a hostel and there are many foreign guests, so I think it is a good place to stay as long as you understand this beforehand.(The floor near the rooms on the second floor and in the passageway creaks loudly every time you walk on it, so I think it would be best to get it repaired as soon as possible.)

Would Highly Recommend this hostel for your Rusutsu adventures. very affordable and conveniently located. Just a short walking distance to the Rusutsu resort front entrance, ski lifts and 7-Eleven. Staff was awesome and very helpful, facility was clean and warm.Only complaint would be the heaters in the bunk rooms would keep the room very toasty. Awesome for drying out gear but we usually sleep cold. I’m sure most guests enjoy the warmth though.

I thought it was close to the hotel and had a homely atmosphere. Regarding the food, I felt that the portion was a little small, but it was delicious.However, no matter what I drink, the alcohol is weak... At first I thought I had forgotten to put it in... The price was about the same as a pub in Tokyo, so I was like, hmmm...

Attention, please! A bowl of white rice is 300 yen, and the garlic pot is 1,700 yen per person (a bunch of bean sprouts + a few pieces of chicken). For low-end meals, you need a drink. The Hokkaido-limited cava is diluted apple cider flavor. …I’ll just be the plate.

Friendly atmosphere, close to the slopes. Staff were all nice and made an effort to bridge the language barrier, as did we, some confusion in the beginning was an unpleasant start to our stay, however the staff sorted things out and the rest of our stay went quite well.

In meat-heavy Japan this might be your best bet for something approaching vegan. Get the hot pot, ask for no chicken and extra tofu. No guarantees there isn’t some animal broth or something snuck in; but it tasted pretty clean and delish. Fun vibe and awesome folks, absolutely loved this place.

We wanted Shabu Shabu and found this place. Happy we did. Service was good. Food wasn’t bad & we were filled. On a side note, I really wish Rusutsu had more to offer than the same type of food at every restaurant though.
