I thought the reservation had not been made, but I received a call the day before and found out that the reservation had been made. Even though it was a busy time of year during a three-day holiday, and even though they didn't notice my call and didn't get back to me until 10 p.m., they were very kind and courteous. The person on the phone spoke to me in a very gentle manner, and I felt so kind that I almost cried while talking to him. Thank you for taking good care of me this time. Next time, I would like to make sure to complete the reservation and visit you.

I stayed here on a family trip (2 people in their 30s and 2 people in their 60s).The facilities, service, and hospitality of the employees were wonderful, but the food was far from my expectations, which is my only regret. Details are below.■Rooms and amenities・I stayed in a room called Togen. It was more than 50 tatami mats in size, and was large enough for 4 people to stay. In particular, the open-air bath attached to the room was wonderful, and I was able to relax while enjoying the atmosphere outside. The overall structure was luxurious, with a changing and rest area for the open-air bath (equipped with an air conditioner) and a hallway with a courtyard about half a tatami mat in size.・On the other hand, it is not possible to completely hide the open-air bath from inside the room, so I thought you should be careful when going there with friends of the opposite sex.・Basic amenities are available. It was helpful that each person provided two pieces of in-house wear and a basket bag for going to the open-air bath in the large public bath.■Customer service/service・The way we were greeted upon arrival and the explanation of the rooms were very polite, giving me the impression that this was a first-class hot spring inn. There was one member of my family who wasn't feeling well, but when I was going to a nearby convenience store, he happened to have some free time and gave me a ride, which was very helpful.・Also, when I called to confirm the day before, they gave me various advice such as when to leave my luggage and how to get to the winery, which was very helpful.■Hot spring/bath・The large open-air bath has an indoor bath and an outdoor bath. The indoor bath is a normal hot spring with no view, but the outdoor bath is simple and has a nice atmosphere. However, please be aware that there are fixed times for men and women to use the service in the morning and at night.■MealsI booked a plan that said ``Enjoy hearty Japanese cuisine,'' but the meal I received was not Japanese cuisine at all. We received a completely creative cuisine based on Japanese and French cuisine, consisting of 8 dishes based on the story of Aladdin from Disney. I was really looking forward to the Japanese cuisine at the hot spring inn, so I was really, really disappointed. Below is what our family felt for your reference.・The 8 dishes consisted of 3 appetizers, 3 meat and fish dishes, 1 meal, and 1 dessert.・First of all, the quantity was small overall. I think it's not enough for men in their 10s to 30s. There was a wide selection of additional dishes on the menu, so perhaps the volume was originally intended to be added.・I wasn't impressed by the appearance. The presentation was far from what one might associate with the word Japanese cuisine, and was reminiscent of a 5,000 yen restaurant that specializes in photogenic dishes that girls in their 20s might appreciate.・There were two soups in the eight-course meal, but for balance, I think they should have had only one soup. (Maybe I felt that way because I was also drinking alcohol.)・The main meat was thin, about 1cm thick, and was well-cooked even though they didn't say it was well-done.・For dessert, Shine Muscat, perilla jelly, and watermelon came out. The Shine Muscat was more conspicuous in its presentation, so I ate that first, but when I ate the watermelon afterwards, it didn't have any sweetness. I think it would have been nice to have some advice on the order in which to eat the food when it was served.・For each dish served, we were asked to explain what scenes from the Aladdin story were used as motifs, but I wonder how families in their 30s and 60s should look when listening to the explanation. .There was too much of a gap between expectations and reality, and everyone was in a state of low spirits.・It is not that the head chef has changed, but that the head chef himself is trying out a course that he has wanted to try for a long time during the summer vacation period when there are many children. I think it would be better if you change the cuisine. Also, which group of children will be happy? I feel like children under elementary school age would be more happy with the children's lunch. .*Breakfast is not worth mentioning, so I will omit it.■OverallThis is the first time in my life that I have stayed at a hot spring inn that was so far from my expectations.I went back and checked past Ikkyu reviews and Google reviews for my first family trip in a while, and was drawn to the food so I made a reservation, but I learned a lot about how the concept of food can change suddenly. I did. From the employee's point of view, it may be ``I tried out a creative dish with a concept that I've wanted to try for a long time,'' but from the customer's point of view, it might be ``a dish from a hot spring trip that I don't have many times a year.'' I think this is a not-so-cheap accommodation, so I would have liked to see the food that lived up to the expectations of the plan name, ``Japanese food made from the heart.'' To be honest, I can't believe the food is from an inn that costs more than 40,000 yen per person. I thought it was such a waste, since everything other than the food was a wonderful inn. Please check this review and see if we can improve it.

I used it for 1 night and 2 days.Japanese-style taste like a detached villaThe room has its own open-air bath (there is also a regular bathroom) and in-room amenities. The size of the room was also perfect. The meals were thoughtfully prepared and combined well with Japanese and Western styles, and even though I am a picky eater, I was able to finish my meal.Rather than having fun with childrenI felt it was perfect for families and couples who wanted to spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle. It was very clean and comfortable.

I visited in February 2024 on a surprise trip from my girlfriend. As I followed the navigation route, I found an imposing gate at the end of a fairly narrow road, and it turned out to be a super luxurious inn with a completely private room and an open-air bath. . The front desk man, who seems to be over 60, is a strong, friendly, and very nice person who carried my luggage to my room, where I received a detailed explanation from the staff. All of the dishes were the best I've ever had in my life, and I kept saying, "This is so delicious!"The room is spacious and you can relax in the open-air bath without worrying about the surroundings. The screen door of the indoor bath attached to the room was falling apart, which I thought would be a downside, but it's the perfect place to spend an elegant time. The castella in the souvenir corner is so delicious that I think it's worth buying as a souvenir or for yourself!

After leaving this inn, my rating was around 2.5 stars. Now it's zero.Regarding the bathroom facilities in the room, there was something unthinkable for a hotel that costs nearly 50,000 yen per person per night, so I left a note in the room. I didn't say it right then because we were also traveling and I didn't want to make you feel bad.About 2 hours after I checked out, I received a phone call from the hotel, and I thought they were apologizing for the inconvenience in the room. Then firstThey said, ``I think you left something behind...'' and it turned out to be an electrical outlet, but the problem was that it wasn't one of our personal belongings. I also found it in a drawer by an outlet, so I thought it was from the hotel and didn't pay attention to it.Is this better? Is it okay to clean? My suspicions deepened. After that, he started talking and said, ``I have a separate question regarding the letter in your room...''Ah, I thought it was nice of you to touch me, but that apology was terrible.First of all, he was so confused that I couldn't understand what he was saying, and then he ended up saying things like, ``The manager isn't even here today.''picture! ? When did I say I wanted to talk to someone above me? Lol. From my point of view, you and the manager on the phone are both people at the inn who provide hospitality when you stay at the inn.I got angry and started talking about how there were a lot of small ants in the washing area of the indoor bath, which I didn't mention in the letter.Well, if you flush the ants in the washing area...When I started talking, the person on the other end said something like, ``Yeah, well, it's okay if you just let it flow.''picture! ? Did I stay at a hotel that cost 10,000 yen per night? Is it funny that I stayed the night?I thought. And without a proper apology,I was surprised when he said things like, ``If I have another chance...''I feel like I can say that very well.First of all, the cleaning is not very thorough even though it is a reasonable price. And for those who answered the phone, please realize that you are working at a high-end inn.I wonder if they were criticizing me because I was young, which also bothers me.

I used it for 1 night and 2 days in February.I went there with high expectations due to good reviews, but after actually staying there, it was an inn that made me want to come back again.Anyway, I want to take a relaxing bath in a hot spring! The open-air bath, room, and meals met my expectations.I stayed in a room called ``Togen,'' and the open-air bath in the room was the best, and it was spacious, so I bathed many times because I could breathe in the clean air and look at the garden while bathing.I don't know because I didn't include dinner due to the arrival time (I went to a hotou restaurant called Akafuji recommended by the taxi driver), but I was able to have breakfast in a private room and have a relaxing time.I was able to ask about my child's food preferences over the phone in advance, so I was able to eat almost everything. On Friday and Saturday, we basically didn't meet any other guests. We even passed each other when checking out.The staff, including the cleaning staff, were all very nice and polite, which made me feel comfortable.Isawa Onsen is recommended!

I took a risk booking this place after finding it on maps but not able to find many reviews online. Thanks to following my instincts!Filled a form on its website and got a confirmation email - that’s all. No credit card required, no deposit and no reminder email before arrival. To be honest I was a bit concerned 😂 I tried to call to confirm my reservation but the person spoke little English so I wasn’t sure until we arrived to check in.It’s located in a rather ordinary or even shabby town. Not many international tourists. We walked from the train station (you could actually ask them to drive you) and wow - what a contrast once you walk in! Our room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. Everything in the room feels high quality and they have counterparts for kids that are so cute!Though the staff can’t communicate in English fluently (blame ourselves for not learning Japanese fast enough 😆), I could feel their hospitality and care. Every time we came back, a bunch of them came out to welcome us. Everyone was professional and friendly yet gives a family vibe; the young lady who served us meals was especially genuinely cheerful and delightful - we didn’t see her on our last day and my kid was sad because of that!We enjoyed the private open air onsen, the exquisite meals, and the view outside our window. They are truly creating art in their work, at this unexpected suburban place. I had rarely slept this well. Really relaxing and satisfying! This is probably the longest review I’ve ever written 😆 sincerely want to express my gratitude. It is not cheap (Japanese onsen ryokans are all kind of expensive) but compared to popular destination like Hakone it’s pretty good. We find the whole experience worthwhile definitely. Wish to visit again in the future!
