A fairly new hotel in downtown Kyoto. Actually quite well located. However, we chose it because of the spa and rooftop bar. Both were closed when we arrived. The rooftop bar obviously only opens when the weather is very good. The spa was under renovation. We were of course very disappointed because we couldn't use both. When we asked the service about this, we were offered a piece of cake as an apology. Cancellation was not possible without the cancellation costs for a one-day overnight stay. In our opinion, this hotel does not reach a five star standard.

Typical Hilton hotel, great location at walking distance from Shinjuku station.Fair rooms for Tokyo's standards.Good gym facilities and pool.Good breakfast choice.Don't dare to go to the various restaurants for a meal: it's a ripoff when considering food quality/quantity/service quality.

Great hotel, just opened a month ago. Very friendly, competent and polite team. The rooms are decorated in Japanese style. Very rich and varied breakfast. Also a compliment to the interior design. Highly recommended.

This is a world class hotel in the perfect location of Kyoto that just recently opened (September 2024). I was lucky to have the chance to stay here and exceeded my expectations. I'm just a Gold Hilton member, but I got to experience the hotel to the fullest and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone (especially Diamond status members) as I believe it will check all of the boxes. The check in process was easy and I was able to get an upgrade to a nicer room on the 8th floor and access to the executive lounge (located on the 9th floor). One of the nicer touches are the room keys being made of wood. The room was a very nice size, well thought out, and very comfortable with a Japanese/modern design. I also have to mention that the waterfall shower was stellar with great water pressure. The executive lounge was great and frequently went for their breakfast in the morning. They had a nice selection of food/drinks to choose from and have the option for a Japanese style breakfast or American breakfast. They can also make an omelet for you (their take on an omelet) or French toast which were both pretty good. Once breakfast is done, they will offer snacks throughout the day there and then in the evening they offer drinks and other snacks. It's also worth noting that if you are staying on the 9th floor or have executive lounge status by default, you can get checked in on this level and also receive concierge services here as well (when the lounge is open.)As for extra perks and facilities, there is a rooftop bar area that may not offer the greatest views of Kyoto, but it's a great space to hang out and relax. It was pretty busy in the evening when I went and was fun. They also have a small, but nice fitness center with towels and water. It has all of the fitness equipment one would need to get a good workout in and as long as there aren't too many people in it, there is adequate space. The lighting is pretty low in it which does give off an interesting vibe, but I think it works. In addition, they also have a pool (no hot tub) with some lounge chairs and a nice bathroom to change, shower, etc. There is a spa as well but it was closed when I was there so I didn't have a chance to use it. These are all located on the basement level so there are no windows. As for the location, it really is in a great spot with really easy access to public transportation, great restaurants/bars, and all of the other sightseeing and touristy things to do. I didn't eat at their hotel restaurants because after all, it is Kyoto, Japan and there is so many good places to eat around there. Most of the popular things to go see and do were within a 20 minute commute (taking public transportation) and made planning easy as a result. There are also 24 hour stores around there if you need anything.I could go on and on, but overall, this was a great experience and would love to stay here again. I think this place is great for anyone including families and the staff here were so friendly and accommodating. They really went above and beyond to make sure everyone was enjoying their stay. Thank you so much Hilton Kyoto!

When I arrived, I asked if I could park my car for about 5 minutes to check in because I was leaving immediately, but I was refused and directed to the parking lot. After checking in, I got a parking service ticket, went out, and when I came back in the evening, the parking lot was full and I couldn't park. When I inquired, I was told that there were no affiliated parking lots, and I was directed to several parking lots, but none of them were closed. I had no choice but to look for it myself and found a fairly inexpensive coin parking lot, so I parked there. When I walked back to the hotel, there was a Lexus parked in the driveway, and it was still parked when I checked out. I was angry that I was turned away for the entire stay, even though I was turned down for a short time at check-in. It's terrible to change the response depending on the person or car model. By the way, the parked car didn't have any wheelchair signs posted, so I don't think there's any excuse.I was issued a parking lot service ticket at the time of check-in, so I asked if I would be charged, and was told that it would normally cost 4,000 yen, and that I would be contacted after confirmation...I was surprised that they didn't respond immediately, even though it would be nothing but a rip-off if I was charged for something like this. As expected, I was later contacted and told that the charge had been specifically canceled. Of course, I felt really bad.If there is not enough parking space, wouldn't it be natural to research nearby parking lots and provide accurate guidance? ?There was also a problem in my room, and when I opened the closet, a panel (2cm thick and over 1kg) that hides the electrical system, which was set about 2m high, came off and fell down. It didn't hit my body, so I was safe, but if it had fallen on my foot, it could have punctured my foot or even broken a bone. It is a structural defect because such a heavy object is just fitted and not secured with screws.A regular employee just came to apologize for this trouble. Since it's such a serious matter, I thought a manager, assistant manager, or at least a manager would normally come.I don't have a photo of the fallen board because I had to collect it, but I have posted a photo of where it was stuck. The cleaning of the parts that are touched by people is not done very well and they are covered in dust. For example, toilet paper holders and handrails. At the very least, you should wipe down the parts that are at a height that people can touch.Hilton is my favorite hotel brand and I use it often, so this time I had high expectations since it was a new hotel, but it was a disappointment. Pretty terrible. Frankly speaking, this was better than a business hotel.I have never written a review so seriously, but I want the hotel to be a good hotel, so I posted it in hopes of improvements.

At Hilton Kyoto, on our check-out date, we left the hotel quite early for sightseeing and stored our luggage at the front desk. We returned around 2:45 p.m., tired from our day, and wanted to rest briefly in the executive lounge. …
