Could not fault the hotel, it ticked every box for us. Staff were exceptional! When I'm back in Kyoto I will stay here.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel during our recent trip. Not only are the accommodations themselves fantastic and reasonably priced - including a wonderful public bath and option to reserve a private one - but the service was truly exceptional. Every single need we had was taken care of. My wife hurt her foot during our trip, and the hotel was able to immediately supply us with an icepack that really helped her recovery and ability to enjoy the rest of our vacation. English skills were universal among everyone we spoke to. Location is also exactly where you want to be, with nearby access to the subway to get further afield. We will stay here again!

Conclusion: The room design is extremely poor and not suitable for people who travel for a long time. 1. There are very few places to put things. The luggage rack can only hold a small suitcase. There is only a small round table in the room. Tourists like us basically have no place to put things temporarily when shopping. We can only put dirty luggage Put the box on the bed to tidy up. 2. Towels can only be hung on the wall? It was extremely unclean and the towels had a slight sour smell. 3. The supplies were not fully replenished. We stayed for three days and there were a few things missing during the two cleanings. It was obvious that the garbage on the floor was not cleared. Trash cans are extremely small and there is little storage space, making it difficult to maintain a clean space. 4. The sound insulation is poor. It happened to be the Japanese Sports Festival during my stay. There may be more people. You will hear the sound of TV, washing machine, etc. at night. There are too many shortcomings, and it is completely inconsistent with the price and the so-called five-star hotel. The attached picture proves that we actually checked in. The room is too messy to provide other pictures.

A very beautiful hotel, very close to the subway station, Xinfengkan, Nishiki Market, Shijo Kawaramachi, Daigokuden, Blue Bottle, INODA caffe, etc. It is very convenient to go everywhere. Having hot spring facilities is a plus. The room is quite large, and there is enough space for two people to work.

Personalized Check in and cold welcome drink (water and iced coffee) hit the spot. Conveniently located to restaurants and public transportation. Rain shower and deep bathtub wonderful. Supportive but soft mattress. In room laundry unexpected bonus.

Such a great place to stay for our 2nd trip to Kyoto. We've stayed at other hotels in Japan and other Mitsui locations/brands and this was just outright pleasant with the classy, understated modern Japanese touch. There are nooks and hooks to stowaway items. However, if you have more than 1 luggage that's at least medium in size (25-27 inches), it's going to be tight. You'll have to zip it up or hop over it.We stayed in a Queen with the in-room washer. A translation app helped us figure out how to use it. There's a coin-operated laundry room in the hotel though if you don't want to wash-dry while sleeping. We didn't get the hotel breakfast because there are plenty of great food options within 5-15 minutes walk.Bonus: the lobby has a money exchange machine that accepts small bills, even $5.
