An amazingly beautiful flat located in the center of Kyoto with walking distance to Nishiki market, Pontocho, Gion and other attractions. The flat was equipped with comfortable beds in the sleeping area and posibility for futons in the next door tataminroom, just enough space for housing our family of 6. Very comfortable pillows, bed linens and cotton pyjamases. The flat is furnished in traditional Japanese style with great attention to the details and decorations.Great view into the small garden both from the living room and from the bath. After a few busy days in Tokyo it was wonderful to settle down here for a few nights. We would definitely recommend this flat to any of our friends if they should visit Kyoto or for the business traveler that seek experience outside the business hotels.

One of the highlights of our holiday in Japan was staying at Micasa, Kyoto. Micasa is an exceptionally designed and immaculately kept Ryokan which is simultaneously both modern and traditional, where every little detail has been carefully considered and curated from the finest locally crafted products. Everything from the delicious and delicate tea, the coffee, the bedding, the kitchenware, the towels and ESPECIALLY the pyjamas are without equal in quality and will have you asking where you can find and buy these items to take home. And owners Naoki & Yasuko could not be more helpful and courteous hosts in this regards, going above and beyond to assist when we were wanting to buy the PJs for ourselves. They also provided numerous fantastic local dining recommendations and with Micasa being located in such a creative and vibrant neighbourhood there was plenty to choose from, all within easy walking distance. Micasa provided the perfect base from which to explore Kyoto, and at the end of the day, when my legs were sore from exploring the city, it was heaven coming back to Micasa, running a hot bath and relaxing in the tub overlooking cutest little Japanese garden you ever did see. Our experience at Micasa is beyond 5 stars. Owners Naoki & Yasuko were super caring & considerate hosts. Knowing we were tea lovers, they gave various teahouses & restaurant recommendations. They also tried to make reservations for us & Yasuko even helped us purchase some matcha soba that we wanted to try. The house is a zen haven for design lovers. Every nook & cranny has been well thought out. The home is immaculately clean & offers state of the art furniture, bedding, towels, bath amenities, kitchenware & even pyjamas. These products were handmade locally & a showcase for Kyoto. With so much to see in the neighbourhood, we still tried to spend as much time as we could in Micasa, purely because it was a wonderful place & we felt so relaxed & excited at the same time to make use of all the beautiful tea ware, coffee ware, not to mention a luxurious bath tub with view of a quaint private garden. Thank you Naoki & Yasuko for your kind hospitality. We look forward to returning to Micasa!
