All the staff greeted us kindly, we received warm service, and we were able to spend a relaxing time. The route from the bus stop was a little difficult to find on the map on the website, so I asked at a nearby shop. Once I knew the directions, I was able to get there easily.

Hiiragiya Annex was hands down one (if not the most) special experiences I have ever had - each detail was handled with so much care and attention; it was an peaceful oasis in the middle of our busy trip - and so amazing to have an authentic experience! We didn't want to leave!

We got the second floor room, shared toilet is outside the room and nearby. Everything is so clean! Stairs are a little steep just fyi for yalls with older folks. Service was amazing and Chie (?) I hope I spelled her name right is a great conversationalist and gave us some recommendation for local food around the area, just wished we had the time! Private baths need to be booked, they will ask you what time slot you’d like. I felt like the room was a little tight for 4 so will do 2 next time instead. Dinner and breakfast were both good and fun!! Their grilled mackerel was sooo tender and we were just in time for Shirako season.

To be honest, I don’t really want to live in this kind of centuries-old house. Although tradition is its characteristic, the equipment is really traditional. I really don’t like sitting on the tatami, not even cross-legged. It’s impossible to sit upright. They have There are chairs with backrests that can be used on Japanese tatami (for lack of words), but they are still very uncomfortable to sit on. Even if there is a courtyard, it is indeed beautiful. This accommodation is the one I least expected during my entire trip to Japan. Night.Everyone in the annex can speak and listen to English. They may not be fluent, but it can be seen that they all have experience in receiving international guests. Overall, they work hard at service, but if possible, I hope to stay at a hot spring hotel for the same money next time....The advantages and disadvantages of sorting are as follows:1. Advantages:(1) The food was good, and the portion for dinner was just right (that is, just right, not too much). I frowned when I saw the salmon at breakfast the next day, but when I put it in my mouth, I screamed like a cook. It should have been marinated or cooked with sake koji. After more cooking, the meat is delicate and melts in the mouth without any fishy smell, just like eating cod. The only thought is why it is so small! ! ! !(2) The location is convenient(3) The service is very friendly2. Disadvantages:(1) I don’t like tatami, and I don’t want to sit cross-legged, but there is only a traditional low table in the room, and there is no electric kettle to boil water. You will be given a pot of ice water and a pot of hot water. I have also lived in Nikko and this tradition The hotel only costs 3,000 a night...(2) You must make an appointment to take a shower, and there will be someone to boil the water for you (an advertising slogan from what era). It can be seen that it was originally a small bathroom for 2-3 people, but in response to the needs of my friends and I, I alone I enjoyed a large bathtub, but the water temperature was out of my control, and I was almost scalded to the point of peeling off my skin. In addition, because I made an appointment to take a shower, I didn’t know if I could still take a shower after the time. However, I walked outside in order to catch up with the shower time. I was very tired and had to rush back. In the end, I was still five minutes late. The staff looked like they were going to call the police. .(3) The service staff are all very old. I paid to get some service, but a service staff who looks like my mother’s age is coming to help me carry my luggage. How can I let her serve? That’s not true. Do I have to move it myself (%$%#^#)....(4) The price is really expensive. One hotel room and two meals cost 5,000. Although this hotel is more expensive, it does not mean that this hotel has better CP value for this price.(5) There is a serious shortage of sockets, so I had to take out the invincible extension cord. Of course, if I sleep in a sleeping bag on the floor, I don’t have to look forward to a bedside lamp.
