This review is for the restaurant that is part of the hotel. In a city replete with special dining experiences this one stood out. The restaurant and dining room are beautiful, and the service was very traditional and excellent. …

We had a reservation at the restaurant for the tasting menu (which is the only thing they offer). We were 4 people but one of them was not in a position to eat. They were not at all understanding and despite explaining the situation several times, they made us pay for the menu for the 4 people in addition to taking away all the food that he could not try, even having asked them to please not do so so as not to have to throw it away. 😫😡Regarding the food, it was not up to the high price we paid for it (approximately €150): neither was the tempura the best we tried in Kyoto nor was the fish especially good or of high quality. But the worst of all was the treatment we received from the staff and the owner.

Tempura is delicious😋It has a lot of vegetables and feels like a straight forward tempura using the ingredients as they are.I think it's a good place, especially since there are many shops with strange creations. There are a lot of items, but it's clean. The tencha at the end is super delicious😋The soup stock is wonderful, and the flavor comes from using plenty of high-quality bonito flakes. The final dessert will be served in the lobby of the inn, which is full of atmosphere. It is rare to find plums stewed in a sweet and painstaking manner. This is a wonderful item.

I had the tempura course meal. 16,500 yen (tax included)Tempura was delicious. The prawns are the best. It had a sweet taste and the aroma of shrimp was really delicious. When I asked about it, I was told that it was prawns from Kagoshima. Apparently it was fried in soybean oil, so it was a refreshing tempura. The customer service is good and I would like to go again.*The Chinese people sitting across from me (one man, two women) were taking pictures the entire time, which made me feel uncomfortable. I can't help it since I can't choose the customer, but I deducted one star for that.

From Kawaramachi, go north on Teramachi Street, turn left before Oike Street, then take the third right turn.I feel something like an aura emanating from the entire miraculous shop called Yoshikawa. The garden is said to have been designed by Kobori Enshu.Although it is completely surrounded by condominiums, the inside of the residence is quiet and has beautiful green trees and moss. The tempura is brought out one by one after the appetizers and bowls are served, so you can enjoy it while it's still warm.I heard that they use white soybean oil, but it's light and really easy to eat.Once I tried this tempura, I didn't think I would be able to eat it anywhere else. The rooms are horigotatsu-style, making it comfortable for your feet (some rooms have table seating). The room we were shown to will also be used as a tea room, where tea parties will be held.Next time I would like to use it in autumn and enjoy autumn ingredients.I was satisfied with everything from the hospitality of the Nakai and the landlady, the food, the building, and the garden.
