Negative:- At 10pm, the lights in the common area are completely shut off. I think it’s a good thing to dim the lights at night but why is it pitch dark? You are essentially getting kicked out of the common area and are pretty much forced to go into your room and sit in your bed after 10pm, I felt like a child.- At the same time, you are also no longer allowed to speak in the common area after 10pm. Again, I understand being quite in the evening but why am I not allowed to speak at a low volume in a COMMON AREA in a HOSTEL, where I don’t have a personal space? I‘ve been to a lot of hostels in my life and thankfully I was always able to use the common area whenever I wanted to so this is the first time for me to encounter rules like this.- One evening I was working on my laptop in the evening and had a colleague on the line, co-working, when the lights got turned off. I didn’t think about the time so I was immediately telling him about the fact that I have to go offline now because I‘m sitting in the dark and I‘m no longer allowed to talk when the female staff came (for a SECOND time) to tell me that I am now not allowed to talk anymore. How about giving people 5 minutes to arrange their stuff/laptops etc. instead of telling shushing them immediately the second it turns 10pm? It’s rude.- Please change the dish sponge more often. There are lots of people using the kitchen and cleaning dishes every day with just one single sponge. I didn’t want to use it when I was there because it looked so bad.Positive:- Good location, close to downtown and the ports- You can rent a bicycle for cheap (800 yen for 12 hours)- You get jasmine ice tea for free

(Review is written in Korean & English)1.LocationFirst of all, the location is very good. From the airport, you can get to your accommodation by bus. You can walk to downtown Ishigaki, so you can have dinner and then walk lightly. There is a convenience store nearby and a large supermarket 10 minutes away.2. AccommodationI had a small, two-person private room to myself. The room was larger than I expected, so I was able to spread out my large luggage. The room has a small table and TV, and there are outlets around the bed so you can charge your phone while you sleep. The room is really clean and well organized. Also, the common spaces such as kitchen, toilet, and bathroom are all very nice.3. AmenitiesYou can rent a car or rent a bicycle (for a fee, but very cheap!) I went to Ishigaki to watch the sunset by bicycle because the buses stop running very early. You can also rent a curling iron (free) and use both the washing machine and dryer (charged). Most of the staff could not speak English, but the explanatory materials were written very well in English, so it was not a problem at all. About 50% of the guests are foreigners. Next time I come to Ishigaki, I want to stay here again☆☆☆☆☆1.LocationThe location is excellent.
