We met when we went to Gomi Onsen and fell in love at first sight. I was curious about the hut with the triangular roof, so I watched the owner's YouTube videos and researched A-frame.And a long-awaited stay for my birthday. It was a hut filled with careful attention to detail.I regret that I should have taken more eco-friendly measures. For example, you can use dishes so that you don't have to use water.Well, it's really comfortable and I can sleep well.Recommended for people who enjoy inconvenience.

I used it for 1 night and 2 days as one of the bases for traveling within Hokkaido during Golden Week. The owner is a very friendly person, and although there was an inconvenience during check-in, he kindly took care of it.This was my first time using a portable power source and bio-toilet, but I had no particular inconvenience. We made full use of the cooking utensils and outdoor equipment provided. It was the perfect environment for us, who wanted to go camping but didn't have the knowledge or equipment.Although the room was compact, it was a good size to stay in, and it was a wonderful space packed with the charms of Shimokawa Town. The sunlight pouring in through the large windows felt very nice.It was a one-night, two-day stay in nature where I lost track of time and relaxed, relaxing both physically and mentally. When I'm busy, I suddenly think about it and think, ``I want to go there again.''Next time, I would like to stay for 2 nights or more and come back in a different season.

I stayed there during the coldest period of winter, but it wasn't cold at all inside, it was just hot inside. Maybe it's because it's made of wood, but it didn't dry out and was comfortable. Highly recommended for those who are interested in the outdoors but are new to camping.

I stayed with a friend at Iworo, a newly built rental cabin in Shimokawa Town.Although it was night when we arrived, we were welcomed by the light of ice candles, and the sharp A-frame was filled with miscellaneous goods and amenities selected by the owner, some of which were made by people living in Shimokawa. It was a little windy outside, but I felt warm all at once. They had a bonfire set up for me, but after I ate some roasted marshmallows, I got cold and went inside. If you stay for several nights, you can enjoy the bonfire even more.I've always liked rooms with large windows that let in plenty of sunlight, so the triangular windows that only allow me to see the forest, snow, and sky are calming because no unnecessary information or noise comes in. It's like an observation window where you can step into nature and take a deep breath to see what's going on, so you can keep looking outside. In fact, just before I left, I spotted a male sika deer eating a branch nearby. And there are two of them.As a side note, I think there are many people who long to live in the forest. I too want to live like the painter Ursula from ``Kiki's Delivery Service.'' I haven't given up at all yet. I'm aiming for the timing. However, even in Shimokawa, where more than 80% of the area is forested, it is difficult to find and build a single-family house in the middle of the forest. There are various problems such as whether snow removal is available or whether there is electricity. However, at ``Iworo,'' you can experience a house in the forest. Isn't this alone worth staying? I think. As the name suggests, ``Iworo'' is an off-grid cabin, and electricity can be used from a solar rechargeable battery. The toilet is a bio toilet. In the winter, there's a cute sized stove so you don't get cold. This morning I woke up slowly and took a walk in the forest while listening to the moss and bird doctor and the voices of great tits and jays. I happened to come across a scene where the squirrels were eating. They learn that it makes a sound similar to when they do a double jump. After returning, the three of us ate pancakes made by a friend, soaked in the open-air bath of Gomi Onsen, a 3-minute walk from Iworo, for nearly an hour, and then ate nabeyaki udon at the restaurant ``Rindo'' inside the hot spring. A great course to enjoy. In traveller's terms, staying in one place for a long period of time is called ``sinking'', and I felt like ``sinking''.It was an inn where you could experience both the closeness to nature like staying in a tent and the detailed facilities like a hotel.

Not only is the handmade space wonderful, but each item in the room has a story behind it, and I enjoyed my stay there. It was a waste to stay just for one night... I also requested a half-day tour, and they listened to my requests and interests, and I was able to have an experience that would not be possible through regular sightseeing. thank you very much! !

Digital detox and immersing myself in nature was the ultimate luxury. It's a compact room, but it's packed with everything I wish I had. I thought it was a one-of-a-kind accommodation in the world that could only be done here. A place I definitely want to go to again! thank you very much.

It was perfect.I am very satisfied that I was able to stay overnight and be a guide, and that I was able to meet people who are active in Shimokawa Town. It has long been famous for its energy autonomy policy, but I was able to learn about the highly original activities of young people and felt a different kind of energy from electricity. We especially recommend the guide plan.In my case, I told them in advance what I wanted to know about Shimokawa Town, and they guided me with content that suited me. Definitely recommended for those who want to experience or report on Shimokawa Town.

It was a space full of excitement. There are many accessories and amenities that will let you feel the charm of Shimokawa, and the great nature outside is also great. At night, I was able to enjoy a walk under the full moon. The temperature outside on the day I stayed was below -10 degrees, but the room was warm and comfortable with a stove. A set of cooking utensils was also provided, so I was able to leisurely enjoy bread and coffee in the morning. It was the most extraordinary experience, feeling the beauty of Shimokawa's winter and keeping my heart racing from beginning to end. Thank you very much✴︎

The inn is packed with things from Shimokawa town (herbal teas, aroma oils, works by local woodworkers, etc.).It's a comfortable space where you can relax by reading a book or having a cup of tea, or you can take a walk in the forest because nature is right next to you.You can also take a bath at the adjacent Gomi Onsen from the time you check in until the next morning, so it's a good idea to relax in the hot spring. All cooking utensils are provided, so you can cook your own rice.If you time it right, you can buy local bread and local ingredients at the Gomi Onsen shop.I stayed there in the winter, but it was well insulated so I was able to stay very warm.
