Manji forms part of the Manji Higashiyama Temple GroupMore than ten temples and shrines stand in a row at the foot of a small mountain to the east of the city.Among them, Tenshoji is a unique temple that operates as a youth hostel. While youth hostels were gradually declining, it seems that it remained open until recent years. They used to exist all over Japan and played a role in supporting young people's travels. The night meetings were also a place for travelers to interact with each other. Many travelers probably stopped by this youth hostel, and when they left, they would say ``I'm going'' and move on to their next destination. It may not be possible to resist the trends of the times, but I hope that the day will come when its merits will be reconsidered.

I made a reservation for Golden Week over the phone about a month in advance. I called twice and booked a total of 3 nights, and the woman who answered the phone said it was fine. However, when I arrived that day, the youth hostel was completely closed and there was no one there, so I couldn't stay there. It was the middle of Golden Week, and I had to find somewhere else to stay in a hurry, and I had to stay at an expensive hotel. I thought it was terrible. If the owner is an elderly hostel who forgets to make reservations and has no intention of running the hostel anymore, I would like them to announce on the youth hostel website and other internet sites that they are going out of business. Please be careful so that others do not experience the same situation.

This time I will be staying at a different place, but it's been a while since I last visited.I was worried because I couldn't make reservations on the website recently. . .The youth service seems to continue, and reservations seem to be made mainly by phone. However, it is difficult to connect. . .The youth team has a great atmosphere, so I hope they continue to do their best! !If you can't get in touch, you can also contact the tourist association! !

Beautiful on the outside but not nice inside. It's dirty and dusty and doesn't look clean. The heaters don't work well. There is also a 10pm lock out. The location is convenient though. Wouldn't personally recommend it.

I made a reservation for myself in a shared room. It just so happened that there were no other shared rooms reserved that day, so I was alone in the room. …
