This hotel is housed in a building that used to be a sake brewery, which is a national tangible cultural property. The concept is to enjoy the goodness of traditional buildings rather than modern comforts. The restaurant and public bath were renovated to take advantage of the unique characteristics of the building, making use of an adjacent storehouse.Even though I arrived nearly two hours before check-in time, I was able to use the room. This was a great blessing since we had to give up walking around town due to the rain. There were free drinks in the room, and I was given champagne right away. Warm up your body in the large public bath, which is a renovated storehouse next door, and enjoy a beer. For dinner, we went to a restaurant in a renovated building next door, and enjoyed a French course using local ingredients such as Kasumi crab, Iwazu green onions, and Tajima beef, paired with Japanese sake. All of them were delicious, but Tajima beef was the best. There is a lounge next to the restaurant, and the alcohol there is also free! Although I was full, I ended up drinking two, or maybe three, drinks.I was very satisfied with the building, food, and service. So why ⭐️4?Because I like it so much, I'm going to write down the things I would like to see improved. It's a shame that the bath is built in a clay storehouse that traps heat and steam. Don't you need some way to remove steam? If there is heat storage in the earthen walls, it might be warm even if the air escapes? It's a shame that the lighting shines directly into the eyes. The lighting in the entrance atrium hinders the view of the dynamic and wonderful atrium. Are the lights in the lawn garden interfering with the view of the illuminated Takeda Castle ruins?

There is a wide variety of drinks in the lounge. On the day I stayed, there were no snacks available, so I bought some at a candy store next to the facility. When you get a second helping of miso soup for breakfastI feel that they are particular about the small changes in the ingredients. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It's also very atmospheric to be able to see the trains from the dining room.

It was a fantastically beautiful hotel. We were welcomed very well and the woman at reception spoke good English, which made check-in even more pleasant. The room is gigantic and very clean. The bathroom was a dream, 2 bathtubs and high-quality “Made in Japan” amenities.Dinner was a 6-course menu, which really tasted excellent. There was a typical Japanese breakfast, which was very tasty. The hotel gave us a feeling of relaxation and care.Thank you very much, it was a really nice stay.Warm greetings from Germany.

It's definitely a great location to look up at Takeda Castle, which is known for its sea of clouds (though you can hardly see the Takeda Castle ruins from below). Even if you come by train, it's in front of Takeda Station, so it's convenient if you're just here, but if you want to go to other places, it's still better to go by car. This time, I stayed there on the way back from buying the phantom melon Shinhoro in Kyotango. I learned about this VMG Hotel because a manga called ``Hitorisama Hotel'' featured a hotel in Sawara, Chiba Prefecture, which was a renovated old private house, so I immediately researched hotels in Kansai and made a reservation over 3 months ago. So it was a good deal for the price. There seemed to be few guests staying that day, so we had been upgraded to a maisonette room, but since there were only two of us, we didn't use the second floor at all and only took photos. The room had a cypress bath, but since there was a large public bath, I didn't use it either. Dinner was French and the Tamba beef was very delicious, and I was satisfied with everything, including the dessert. The second floor of the restaurant is a lounge where you can drink as much local sake, wine, beer, and soft drinks as you like, and it was possible to drink them the next morning, but as expected, no one was drinking from that morning. There was a corner where small children could play, but it seemed to be for children up to about 2 years old. In addition, the refrigerator in the room was full of free drinks such as wine, champagne, beer, non-alcoholic champagne, and juice, which could be taken home.If I had one complaint, I would like them to stop using artificial flowers as interior decorations. This is true of any inn or hotel, but even the most beautiful interior can look cheap if it has artificial flowers. I would like you to place some live plants, even wild flowers and ornamental plants.

I wanted to stay out in the Japanese countryside to relax. I originally had more of a hostel down the street then I got an amazing deal on Rakuten Travel and booked Takeda Castle Town Hotel. This may be the nicest place I have ever stayed in all my travels and exactly what I needed. The room I got was actually about a half block from the main hotel where there were three rooms that were subdivided in a very old townhouse. This was not what I expected and was completely delighted. I had a small yard, very nice bathroom with a fancy wooden bath a bedroom with two large beds and two sitting rooms (or spare sleeping areas). The main bedroom was a kids room previosly, you could still see stickers from the 60's or 70's on the wall which was wonderful to see.The room itself had a small pre-stocked fridge with free drinks. If you needed more you could get them at the lounge adjacent to the restaurant. The lounge as mentioned had free drinks, including many varieties of sake. No snacks though. Wifi was good and I camped out there at night. It was off season so only me.The hotel has an onside onsen, small but comfortable and felt great. The only thing I can say negative about the room is that while renovated with great care, every new doorway was for someone shorter than six foot. I am taller than than and banged my head more than once. The main hotel area is an old sake distillery that also houses the tourist info office. The hotel staff is incredibly nice and caters to the visitor. Included in the offer was one meal a day in their restaurant. They asked what I liked and what I could not eat. Every meal were the best breakfasts I ever had.The tourist info office is small but offers old time candy, local gifts and have some displays about the castle above.TLDR: Super fancy, luxurious and glad I spent a little more to stay here!

I'm very satisfied with this wonderful inn ^ - ^I stayed here with my two dogs. You can see the Takeda Castle ruins from the window on the second floor. As it is a former sake brewery, various types of alcohol are available free of charge in the lounge. The inn is close to the station.

I previously stayed at a different NIPPONIA hotel affiliated store and it was very good, so this time I stayed at the Takeda hotel.I made a reservation for dinner this time and had been looking forward to it for several months, but I was very disappointed that I couldn't enjoy it as much as I used to due to the staff's lack of consideration.
