Old, worn out and not always clean. Located a long walk from anywhere including the train and no shuttle service. Local area is dead in the evening, hard to get a meal. Need to take train to Kinugawa Onsen or Nikko and for local attractions, but that's a 20 min walk, longer with luggage. Smoking room was inside and clearly noticeable in the lobby. For the price expected better. Nice breakfast and great view from our 9th floor room, even if the balcony door was broken.

This is my first trip to Kinugawa Onsen in 2 years. I stay at hot spring inns for about 10 to 15 nights a year, but I mainly choose buffet inns. I stay in a variety of places, from places that cost less than 10,000 yen per person per night to high-end inns that cost around 40,000 yen per person per night. This time, I stayed at this inn as it is a petite all-inclusive inn, and it is a relatively reasonable accommodation at 12,000 yen per person per night.Arrived at 2:40. The receptionist was a foreign staff member, but since most of the staff could speak Japanese, there was no problem. Happy hour started at 3 o'clock, so we had some alcohol and oden in the lounge and headed to our room. The room certainly felt old, but I had read other people's reviews beforehand, so it was within an acceptable range. Even better, I was able to reserve karaoke and a private bath before dinner, so I really enjoyed it. Dinner was served from 6pm until 7:30pm, so we headed to the dinner venue. Dinner was a soy milk hotpot and half buffet, so I wasn't expecting much from the variety, but it turned out to be a lot less than I expected. However, there was red snow crab and hitsumabushi on the fair menu, so it felt luxurious. Here's the problem. The crab🦀 is so salty that I can't eat it. I'm not exaggerating 😭 It's really salty. It's a shame because the eel was delicious. In the end, we added some toppings for the soy milk hotpot, enjoyed all-you-can-drink alcohol, and finished dinner. The other ingredients also had a strong taste, and only the alcohol progressed. In the morning, the miso soup and everything else was well seasoned, so I was really disappointed in the dinner. The foreign staff was very nice, so before dinner my wife and I said we'd like to come back again, but unfortunately we won't be able to come back. It was a really disappointing dinner.

After spending several nights in Okukinu Onsen Village, I stayed at Kinugawa Onsen. It was a 3-day weekend and everywhere was very crowded, so I called about 10 places on the phone and managed to get a reservation at Manyotei.[Residence] Comfortable accommodationI had a relaxing and comfortable stay in the 10 tatami Japanese-style room. The futons are self-made, but I would have liked to have them set up in advance so that I could lay them out easily with just one touch.[Hot water] Good hot waterIt was colorless, transparent, odorless and comfortable. The hot water is highly alkaline with a pH of 9.7 and is gentle on the skin. However, I feel that the pH is around 9.[Food] Delicious side dishesI was grateful to receive draft beer and oden as a welcome drink.Dinner was buffet style with free drinks and was delicious. In particular, I had to ask for a second helping of the marinated salmon and squid somen noodles. Also, the soy milk pork hot pot was very delicious. For breakfast, we had a delicious seafood bowl with tuna, swordfish, and salmon topped with squid kimchi.By the way, compared to the Okukinu Onsen "Haccho no Yu" where I stayed the previous night, I felt that this inn was about 10-20% more expensive in terms of cost performance.I would like the company to make further efforts to increase customer satisfaction.

The room smells like car deodorant. There was a lot of garbage in the hallway, so it lacked a sense of cleanliness. The limited edition eel was soft and delicious.

Aircon was almost non functional; lights in the room have not been cleaned in some time and casings broken. There were dead bugs in the light casing. Lobby was a sauna and majority of the staff are not Japanese 😱

The welcome drink and oden are nice. It was nice to have a children's play area. The building itself was old and there were spider webs in some places. The air conditioner has a musty smell (I'm sensitive to smells so I might just be concerned about it)Bath amenities are abundant. The food was average. Is it heavily seasoned? I feel like I'm drinking alcohol. However, even though the information said that dinner time was until 19:30, it closed at 19:00? ? ? That's what it felt like.I can't help but make mistakes, but I thought it was a no-brainer.
