We’ve been in Japan for nearly a month and this has been our favourite hostel. It was so friendly and felt like a little home. Motoko is amazing and very thoughtful - she spends time telling you about local events, is always smiling and laughing, will engage in great conversations with you. Thank you for having us, Motoko! In the communal area, there was a guitar, lots of board games, we even noticed some extra bits (which we didn’t touch) like rice and beer. The location was lovely, hilly and quiet. This hostel was great value for money. We really recommend it!

I stayed here for the first night of my trip around Hokkaido in 2023. I was welcomed by a cute daughter in elementary school, her older brother, and the owner Motoko. On the second night, I was taken to a beer garden with a foreigner named Kable. I went there and had a great time, and I would like to use it again when I go to Hokkaido again.

・Dangerous in winter (Isn't the manager also absent?)・The road in front of me has become narrow due to snow falling from the roof.

I was not able to evaluate it at that time, so I will evaluate it now. When I was touring Hokkaido with my senior and junior, I was struck by the Iburi Earthquake. The hotel I had booked in Sapporo suddenly canceled and I was about to get lost, when I found it online and called him. .Even though I had to fly in, they kindly accommodated me, saying, ``It's a time like this,'' and they even let me stay overnight at a bargain price, which was very helpful. Not only was the owner a nice person, but the two children were also cute and nice. When I stop by Otaru, I would like to come again and say hello.Thank you very much for that time.

Motoko was an amazing host, who speaks fluent English, and can make you feel right at home. The beds were comfortable, and the location in Otaru was convenient for exploring the local ski areas. I recommend staying here for those exploring the surrounding area.
