brilliantly situated guesthouse that is really good value for money!! the room had elements of traditional Japanese homes, and the communal rooms like kitchen and shower were very tidy and well-kept. I highly recommend guesthouse michishio , especially for anyone on the Shimanami Kaido!

Wonderful place to stay on the small set of islands the Shimanami Kaido. The owner is very responsive. The place is clean and looks exactly like the pictured. Would definitely stay there again!

I stayed there in late April 2024. Since there was only one person staying, the 5,000 yen price for a private rental was an absolute steal. It was fun to drink alone in the living room. The bed was clean and I slept soundly. I will stay here again😆

Guest House Michishio-san is located in the quiet mountains of the northern part of Yugeshima, Kamijima-cho, Yumeshima Kaido and will open in April 2023 as a base for cyclists.The owner is Mr. Hirata, a Kansai native who visited Kamijima Town as a member of the Regional Revitalization Cooperation Volunteers and moved there after leaving the military.He is a member of the Kamijima Town Empty House Yoshi-tai, which aims to turn Yumeshima Kaido into a sacred place for leisurely cyclists, and is always eager to provide hospitality to visitors to the island. He's a wonderful owner.Enter the entrance key using the touch-type PIN number panel, and there are 3 rooms (1 single, 2 double),The kitchen, toilet, bath, and living room are shared.The table set in the living room is custom-made and has the perfect size and design for a comfortable resting space.Most things are prepared in the kitchen, and you can cook and eat as long as you bring your own ingredients. We also have some drinks available for coin payment.Each bath is filled with hot water and is shared with other users.There is a cycle stand outside the building, but there is also a stand on the wall in the common living room where you can hang two bikes, so anyone can use them if they wish.The room is a simple type with just a bed. The light from the handmade stand lights will make your time on the island a warmer and more relaxing space.There are plenty of hangers in the closet space, and there are more than enough facilities to hang clothes.The bed was comfortable, but the futon was thin.Please adjust the indoor temperature using the air conditioner.Since it is an old private house, the structure makes it easy for the sounds inside the house to resonate. I think you need to be careful about the noise and volume of voices not only in your room but also in common spaces.If you are concerned about noise while sleeping, we recommend bringing earplugs.In addition, there are special bicycle rentals (reservations required for 1,000 yen per day), and optional tours (inquiries and reservations required) that offer agricultural experiences and guide you around Kamijima's remote islands. We also provide services that only a knowledgeable owner can provide.There is no parking lot. There are places where you can park at nearby Kamiyuge Port, but I believe they also offer a shuttle service. Please make an inquiry

Used by a family of 5.The room was clean and comfortable.Drinks and cup ramen are available for around 100 to 200 yen, so you can get by even if you can't go to a convenience store.Although it was connected to another island by a bridge, the island group itself is not connected to any other bridges, so it is necessary to use a ferry.At first, I thought that everything was connected by a bridge, but when I arrived at a place that looked like a wharf (it turned out to be Karo Port), I arrived at Yuge Island for about 800 yen. I was able to use PayPay for the ferry fare.It was very quiet and the sky was full of stars, and I would love to go there again.I didn't have the projector that someone mentioned, but maybe I just couldn't find it.The owner is very kind.The road is narrow and I think you can only get to the guesthouse by light car.There seems to be a municipal (?) parking lot a little further ahead.

The host was lovely, the beds were comfy and spacious and the air con worked great. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed here as a group of 5 last night and the house was so nice. The bedrooms are spacious and the air con works well. Great location if you are cycling from island to island. The host was very helpful and friendly.
