The room is much bigger than the regular Japanese hotel.Service is good, although most of them don’t understand English, but they try really hard to understand what I said. The food I need to say is extremely good. After two days I already feel I am much fatter than before. Also there is a very good hot spring inside.

Traditional RoomCheck-in - 15:00 / Check-out 10:00This ryokan is located a 5-minute walk from Dogo Onsen Station. There is also a well-equipped private parking lot, making it easily accessible. There is a hot spring bath on each floor of the 2nd and 3rd floors of the annex, and the genders available change daily. The yukata, which can be used as indoor clothing, is available in two sizes: 155cm and 165cm.We recommend that you enjoy the ryokan culture to the fullest by including a kaiseki dinner and breakfast (choose from Japanese or Western cuisine) in your accommodation plan.

We had lunch at a riverside restaurant. The weather was nice, the river had a fair amount of water, and it was refreshing. Of course, the food was delicious and satisfying.

In August, we were traveling by car, and my husband and I stopped by on the way. When I checked in, I naturally brought my Vajra staff into the building. The hotel staff brought my suitcase, etc., but when I was checking in with my vajra cane myself, the hotel staff looked at me and asked, ``Is it okay if I cleanse you?'' I asked. During the pilgrimage, the vajra staff is said to be the Daishi's alter ego and is said to be the ``accompanying companion'', and when staying overnight, it is the one that is purified before one's own hands and feet. The hotel staff understood this, respected the master and my inexperienced self, and cleaned me up with clean water and a towel. I was humbled by the staff's ability to understand the history of the area and act accordingly. The inside of the hotel and the garden were wonderful and gave me a sense of history. There was a basket and towel for the outdoor bath at the entrance, so I borrowed it and took a bath in the hot spring in the main building. This time, I made a last-minute reservation the day before, so I decided to stay overnight without meals. I hope to enjoy the food and drinks next time.thank you very much.

Revisited for the first time in ten years. For some reason, I had the impression that it would be a bit more of a small inn, but it turned out to be a rather large hotel. …

⭐️⭐️⭐️OMG! Our stay at 道後温泉 ふなや was nothing short of magical! The stunning Japanese garden, with its peaceful koi ponds, was the perfect escape, and the service is absolutely flawless. We’ve stayed at many top-tier ryokans, but this one still managed to wow us. The food? Simply divine - every dish perfectly presented and bursting with flavor. A dream experience we’ll never forget!

We stayed at the Haiku Suite Lounge, the room was wonderful, and the dinner was a variety of exquisite dishes. From the main building, you can cross Momiji Bridge and take a bath in Mikage-yu and Hinoki-yu, both indoor and outdoor baths, and the cypress-made baths are alkaline and hot. Check in at 2pm, put on a yukata, and head out for a walk around the hot spring town. There is a Japanese garden inside the hotel, but I wasn't sure if the lounge would be available. At the entrance, you can put a face towel in the bath basket and soak in the Dogo Onsen main building and footbath. For dinner, I only have a 300ml bottle of sake, and the only sake I want to drink is a 4-go bottle. The suite has a cypress bath in the room and a terrace overlooking Dogo Onsen.
