Visited October 5, 2024.Despite some of the reviews, I had a great experience here. This place is full of rich history located off a secluded road away from the other hotels of Manza. Wish I could have stayed for more than 1 nights. Excellent baths - indoor Polyporaceae (mushroom) bath, which is only available at this ryokan and outdoor 100% Manza source bath.Yes, the place is old and there are no locks on the doors to the room, but that is not the reason you’re coming to stay here. It is still being maintained by the owner, it’s just not updated and new like the other hotels in Manza. If you want a luxurious inn, then please stay somewhere else. The baths and the energy of this place is the best in all of Manza and offer true healing. I will only stay here in the future.Thank you to the host who was very caring, accommodating, and served his guests delicious dinner and breakfast (if you get the meal plan). If you do not want to get the meal plan, there is a kitchen available to make your own meals. You can also do semi meal plan which includes miso and rice. All in all, this place was wonderful considering the cost performance. I would like to stay multiple nights next time.

Day trip bath 700 yenThe spring quality is the best, and the building is leaning along with the management. Is it on the verge of going out of business like the inn next door?It has a nice atmosphere, so I would like you to take care of it and clean it without spending a lot of money.

I've been curious about it for a long time, and this time I finally went for a day trip! It's 700 yen per person. The staff were very helpful in guiding me to the hot springs and giving me explanations. The quality of hot water is very good, but the facilities are in disrepair. It looks like the building where the bath is located is about to collapse due to the heavy snow last year. The window in the women's bathroom was completely slanted. There is a fear of not knowing when it will collapse. The water was hot, but I was told that I could add water, so I was able to enjoy it to my liking. My joints have been feeling better since this day, so I would like to go again, but the location is inconvenient and the building...The outdoor open-air bath is a mixed bath, but the entrance to the outside is very narrow. If you are a physically fit person, it may be a little difficult to get out. There was a lot of gravel in the open-air bath, and it was rough and not something you could sit on.I was very disappointed because I wish I could have cleaned that up.The hot water is good, so it's really a waste.I strongly hope that it will be improved.

Used for day trips. The cloudy water is very nice, and when I was standing in the bathhouse carelessly, I was able to see the indoor bath completely from the road, and the soup was sitting on a monkey's stool. The bath I took had a nice atmosphere. The mixed open-air bath was also very comfortable under the blue sky. The limited quantity of hot spring eggs sold at the reception are very delicious and we highly recommend them! It seems that there are many enthusiasts who buy in bulk.

The building is so dilapidated that it can be called an entertainment venue, but the bath is full of rustic charm and I was hooked. A simple indoor bath and an open-air bath in the shade of a tree. Just like last year, I spent 3 nights there during a cool summer. If you want to keep costs down, there are self-catering facilities. I chose the semi-self-catering option where I prepared my own side dishes and rice and miso soup.
