THE MOST- The hostel is well located, in the nice and popular district of Asakusa, and close to the Senso-ji temple (for me the best temple in Tokyo).- The staff is friendly and the cherry on the cake, they agreed to receive a small package for me at the hostel and kept it for me until I arrived (one or two days later).- The bathroom/toilet area is really very good and faithful to Japanese habits, nothing to complain about: everything is clean, the toilets are once again over-equipped with control buttons, lol, and there are plenty of sinks, toilets and shower cabins. The water in the shower is hot (and adjustable of course) and with good pressure. Shampoo and shower gel dispensers are also available, as well as hair dryers.- On the bed side, it is a wooden cabin, with a curtain at its entrance. Privacy is therefore well preserved. There is a board above/behind the pillow to store some everyday items, which is very practical, as well as a small lamp and a socket. The pillow is padded, perfect for me, and the duvet is quite comfortable. A hanger is also provided, for example to dry your towel.- A laundry service is available on the 5th floor, it is both practical and inexpensive (200 yen per machine + 100 yen per dryer cycle). You can go there at any time, even at night. Note that the hostel has an elevator, this is rare enough to point out. There is also a common room on the first floor, where you can eat, work or socialize a little. There is even a microwave if needed.- Finally, a small locker is available at the entrance, to store some sensitive and small items.THE LEAST- I did not find the bed very comfortable, there is a wooden board under the mattress and therefore the bed is very hard. I'm used to hostels but this was one of my worst mattress comfort levels.- I had to wait in the common room from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for check-in, no way to get a bed before time, whether I stayed 6 nights or not. I know that the hostel is within its rights and that cleaning needs to be done, but waiting until 3 p.m. for a check-in I find that a little late in terms of time... In addition, the air conditioning was too strong in this room, I was frozen. Another small drawback about this common room: it closes at 11 p.m., which can sometimes be a little tight for those who eat late.- There is no large locker for a backpack or a suitcase, I put my bag on the bed, but most people leave their suitcases in the small room that serves as an entrance to the dormitory, but so it was a bit of a mess in this place (see photo), in addition to not being very secure.- The laundry is clearly a plus, but there is still room for improvement: the machines are not all recent, and you can't adjust the temperature or anything. I had to do 3 dryer cycles but even so my things were still damp, I thought it wasn't working and reported it to reception. The receptionist added 200 yen of credit to compensate and, by taking out some of the laundry that was almost dry, I managed to get by.
