I used it for a ski stay. This hotel is located in a minor (rude) ski resort called Mt Grandview near Shiozawa Ishiuchi IC.This year (2024) seems to be a year with very little snowfall, so there are many ski resorts that will not be open, and this was one of them, so I went skiing by car and used other ski resorts. In years when there is a lot of snow, the hotel is located inside a ski resort, so you park your car in the parking lot at the base and take a snowmobile or lift to the hotel, but this year there was no snow and we were able to drive straight up to the hotel. When there's snow, you'll have to go uphill on a fairly steep slope, so I don't think it would be possible without a 4WD vehicle. It seems like a hotel run by a family, and when I first visited, I thought I had made a mistake as there was not much information on arrival, but as other reviews have said, the landlady was very nice, and the hotel was a bit old. Although there were some spider webs, we had a great time and it was very reasonably priced.Since I hadn't finished preparing the room, I was told that I could get the missing amenities from the closet in the hallway. (Toothbrushes, yukatas, towels, bath towels, sheets, pillowcases, tissues, etc. can be found here.) There are many patterns for yukatas (there are also yukata from regular hot spring hotels), so we were told to feel free to choose one. (If you ask, they will tell you. If you don't ask, you might think they don't have it... If it's not in the closet, they'll take it out.)Dinner was very plentiful and delicious. (When we stayed there, our menu had a lot of Japanese steak and tuna paste. Other tables also had sukiyaki with lots of meat.) Also, although I hadn't heard that it was an all-you-can-drink option, they also had alcoholic drinks. Even though we were told to take whatever we wanted from the fridge, the hostess brought recommended wines to the table and we were very satisfied. (Not everything in the refrigerator is OK. Please ask the landlady.) There are also plenty of tea, coffee, and black tea. (Basically it's selfie)Breakfast is also a common menu item, but the portions are large. (The salmon fillet is about the size of a salmon steak.) Eggs are also said to be delicious. The ski resort in front of the hotel was closed, but the drying room was open, so I was able to dry my boots, which I was grateful for.The bath is large enough to accommodate about 10 people at the same time.Men's razors are available in the changing room. There is also a sauna in the bathroom, but I couldn't use it.When I checked out, I was told that I was sorry that I couldn't get a discount because I applied through a travel agency, and even received a souvenir of candy, which made me very satisfied. The view from the restaurant is also very good. (At night, the night skiing at Maiko Kogen Ski Resort was right in front of us, and it was beautiful.)I still want to use it.
