Spacious holiday apartment in a traditional house. Very nice and quiet location in the old town of Kakunodate. There is a large kitchen and bathroom with washing machine and Japanese bathtub, two bedrooms and a traditional living room. Parking available, owner speaks English very well. The samurai houses, which are worth seeing, can be reached on foot in just a few minutes, as can a Family Mart. You can enjoy breakfast at one of the delicious udon shops (from 10:00 a.m.) or you can go about 15 minutes to the pastry shop for a Maroni MontBlanc. There are also beautiful hiking opportunities in the area (car recommended). In the city of Akita you can take part in a great geisha performance (lunch or tea ceremony).Try to come to one of the festivals, it's a very special atmosphere when the whole place is preparing. In short: the neighborhood and surroundings are great!!!

This was a great homy stay with great location and very friendly and helpful owner. It was a perfect fit for our family trip. The house is very spacious and has all the needed facilities. The host guided us how to use everything and provided us with a map and recommendations of all nearby tourist attractions.

Very clean old house and very well located. It has parking. With a Japanese-style room and spectacular tableware to make your own "kaisikei" dinner if you buy first in a large supermarket on the outskirts (just 3' by car)Something I recommend, since everything closes at 5 and it is difficult to find something open in the city. The bathroom works great and is nice to use after a hot day of hiking. There is also a family mark a 2' walk away and the owner also runs a vegan restaurant attached to the house, which only opens at midday. Speaks English perfectlyThere are three bicycles at your disposalTotally recommended
