Very relaxing place. The facilities are old but clean. There are not many customers who were staying, so I could have a bath alone while staying. The staffs are nice. The place for dinner and breakfast is private. The hot spring water is simple salty water. Clear water, no smell, no sliminess.

A great old Onsen tucked into the hills near Yuzawa. I hesitate to call it rundown - more like it's well-lived-in, with a charm I enjoyed. The multiple baths were great and scattered all over the place. The staff was very friendly and left us completely satisfied. The food was delicious and well portioned. Ultimately, it was a little pricier than I usually spend, but it was totally worth it.

It was a very nice inn where you could enjoy delicious food, standing baths, and mixed bathing. And I am deeply grateful for your courteous customer service. There's nothing you can do about insects. This is not an inn that gets evaluated like a bug. If you don't understand, please don't go.

I'm visiting an inn run by the Japan Secret Hot Springs Preservation Association, and this time I'll be visiting Takanoyu Onsen, which I've always wanted to visit.[Residence] A tasteful inn in the middle of natureAfter transferring to the Yamagata Shinkansen and paying 500 yen for a shared taxi from Yokobori Station, we finally arrived at Akinomiya Onsen.Initially, it was about a 5-minute walk after getting off in front of Takanoyu Onsen Entrance, but I was worried about encountering a bear, so I paid an additional 1,000 yen to have the car parked in front of the hotel's entrance. I did.Since the inn is located in the midst of nature, bears appear almost every day with their children around the suspension bridge near the inn to eat ginkgo nuts. The room I was shown to was a spacious 8 tatami Japanese-style room with a toilet and washroom. The room was in a good location overlooking the mountain stream right in front of me.However, an oversized insect entered the room and we fought three different martial arts battles to successfully exterminate it.Additionally, since the inn is located in a valley, SoftBank cell phones have no reception, so I was able to fully enjoy the tranquility of the secret hot springs.Of particular note, the young proprietress of Akita Bijin (AKB, AKita Bijin) treated me very kindly, which I was grateful for.[Hot water] A variety of hot springs with a sense of atmosphereIn addition to the deep bathtub that you can stand in, the public bath also has three bathtubs with different temperatures. The open-air bath faced the mountain stream and had a rustic feel. The clear water pouring into the rock-made bathtub was very soft and gentle.I was able to enjoy the variety of baths to my heart's content, and enjoy the secluded quiet hot springs.[Food] Rich local ingredientsThe first dish served was yam with tonburi and junsai with sambai vinegar, which were very delicious and whetted my appetite. For the sashimi, I had the char as sashimi, and it had a truly rustic flavor. The pork shabu-shabu hotpot was really flavorful with the homemade ponzu sauce. However, the grilled Minase beef steak had a lot of fat and left me feeling heavy afterward.Inaniwa udon and Akitakomachi rice were also very delicious, along with Burigakko.

Stayed in June 2024.The road in front of the inn is quite narrow, so people with large cars should be careful. There is a cute signboard dog on the left side of the front desk. There is a fence to prevent people from going out into the lobby, and there is also a gauge, so even people who are not good at it should be fine.Wi-fi is available, but it can only be used near the front desk. I brought my own pocket Wi-Fi, but there was no signal.I had a smartphone with a Docomo line and had about 2 radio waves. It is unknown whether other carriers will receive radio waves. After checking in, pick up the yukata and toothbrush from the right side of the front desk. There are not many amenities, so it is better to bring your own if possible.(Women should bring makeup remover, lotion, comb, etc.)The hot springs were generally lukewarm (about 38 degrees Celsius by my own experience), but the vertical bathtub on the right after entering the large bath seemed to be the warmest, with a temperature of over 40 degrees Celsius. There is no sink in the changing room of the public bath. There is a door on the opposite side of the entrance to the changing room, and after opening it and going up a few steps, there are three washbasins. There was one sink in the changing room of the women's indoor bath.Only the large bath and the women's indoor bath have showers. The open-air bath does not have one, so first wash your head and body in the indoor bath before going to the open-air bath.Stayed in a room on the second floor. To the right of the entrance is a small refrigerator, cups, and a bottle opener. (The only lighting in the entrance is a light bulb, so it's pretty dark)There is an air conditioner, fan, and stove in the room. There is a sink and toilet at the back of the room. There is a bathroom, but there is a sign saying that it cannot be used. There is a hair dryer in the room. (There is also a hair dryer in the sink next to the large bath and in the women's indoor bath.)We had our meals in a separate room a short walk away from our room. The taste of Minase beef was amazing. It may not be enough for a young person, but it was more than enough for a middle-aged person like me.We met in the same room in the morning. After breakfast, you can drink hot coffee in the lobby.Currently, there are rooms where dogs can stay. There was a place for a dog run on the premises.Other people's reviews said that the staff were not very responsive, but in my case, I was treated very politely and I felt very comfortable.Even when I got stuck in a traffic jam and called to say that I would be late arriving, I was grateful that they told me to "please be careful when coming."The building is old so there is no elevator. There are many stairs and small steps inside the facility, and there are no handrails near the bathtub, so it may be difficult for elderly people to stay there. This inn is perfect for those who are new to the countryside and those who want to enjoy a good old-fashioned hot spring.

This is a hidden hot spring inn located quietly along a river in the mountains. There is also a mixed open-air bath [with a roof] that you can enjoy on a day trip, and the beautifully maintained bath room is perfect. It's the best hot spring. The water source is running dry, and we are currently collecting crowdfunding, and we would like to ask for everyone's cooperation. I would like to ask for your help in reviving a hidden hot spring inn that is rarely found.

The inn is located on the side of the Yakunai River, down a narrow road from the old National Route 108. Even though the national highway runs nearby, the inn is surrounded by greenery on all sides and has a quiet atmosphere. thing. The lanterns of the Secret Hot Springs Protection Association are not just for show. When I told them that it was my first time, the receptionist onii-chan politely taught me a lot of things. In addition to the indoor bath, there is also a semi-open-air bath and a mixed outdoor bath, but the bathing time is one hour, so it is difficult to soak in all of them, so I will save the outdoor bath for next time and just take a look. It was surrounded by lush greenery and had a rustic feel. Just pay the bathing fee and head to the indoor bath! There was an indoor bath right next to the reception, which may have been the shortest travel distance ever. There are indoor baths for men and women, but the men's bath is larger and has four bathtubs, one rock bath and three wooden baths of different depths. The cascading bath is currently closed.I was able to imagine all sorts of things about the mysterious structure and enjoy the private hot springs. There is no washroom in the indoor bath, so we do not recommend washing your hair here. There is a washroom in front of the semi-open-air bath, so if you want to wash your hair, go here. In the semi-open-air bath, men and women are separated for undressing, and although the baths are separated for the time being, they share the same space and are connected by the bathhouse. Here you can see the greenery and feel open, so you can slowly soak in the hot springs, and the atmosphere is even more beautiful at night when the lights are lit.I could see the suspension bridge from the hallway, and there was a building on the other side, so I later asked the lady at the reception desk, and she kindly told me. It looks like it used to be a spa building, and now the family lives here. I tried to think about how crowded it used to be. Personally, I think it's a very attractive hot spring, and I'll have to come back when the leaves turn red.
