Overall everything was good. Please enter the small space next to the cafe. What was disappointing was that I kept hearing the sound of cars from early in the morning, wondering if there was anything nearby.

Spacious and beautifully restored Machiya in the heart of Kyoto! The dining area was also used often after a long day exploring the city, sipping on the coffee provided by the inn. It’s tucked away in an alley behind other buildings so might be difficult to spot, but overall a very pleasant stay.

Great location, super close to the main downtown, but tucked away from all the noise. We booked this place for a family vacation. There were 5 us and we all had plenty of space to spread out. Check in was super easy, English speaking staff were super helpful, and the luggage delivery was definitely a plus! We were able to leave our luggage with the check in team at 10 am, who later delivered it to our rental so we were able to explore Kyoto without having to haul around our luggage until our actual check in time, 3 pm. Rental itself was super cute with little details that we definitely appreciated, amenities bag per person, waters, tea, and coffee from a small local roastery. Laundry onsite was also super helpful, and much appreciated. Located super close to lots of shopping, the Nishiki Market and the Shijo-Ohashi bridge. Would definitely recommend and would book again.

This time I stayed with my family of 5. The townhouse, located in an alley set back from the street, is full of the atmosphere of Kyoto. We all had a great time eating and drinking tea at the dining table on the first floor.A washing machine that could be used at any time was a nice service. Of course, laundry detergent was also provided.Good location close to subway station, convenience stores, supermarkets, Nishiki Market, and Gion. Two mornings in a row, I went for a walk in Gion. This is a townhouse where I would like to stay again.

The rooms were clean, the unit very well equipped, including free WiFi.During an after hours medical emergency, the 2 staff members ordered an Ambulance, and came to the hospital to act as interpreters. Stayed with us until it was time to leave and ensured the taxi had the address to take us home. Above and beyond.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐If we go back to Kyoto, this will be our 1st preference for accommodation.

Excellent location for transportation, restaurants and shopping areas, although some might want to be east of the River. The space was perfect for our party of 5 - with western style bedroom on second level and Japanese style (futons that you pick up and fold each morning) on the main level. It was a great space for our family's vacation to Kyoto.
