I used it only for cooking. The recommended paella was amazing! When it first opened, it was a little unsatisfactory, but it has improved!

There are three things that set Waterside Cottage Heron above any other place I've stayed: the room/view, the hosts, and the food. The view of the river from the rooms is so calming, I loved going to sleep and waking up to it. Both the hosts were so kind and welcoming, they made it genuinely hard to say goodbye! The food is among the best I've had in two years of living in Japan, so fresh, creative, and so carefully prepared. Truly showing the ingredients at their best. I am already trying to figure out how to return and eat there again.

Part 2: so great I had to come back, but this time with family. How in the world I would not review this place? Sometime you have a good feeling before going somewhere. And I got more than what I was expecting.Room was more spacious than I thought, than on the photos. I loved sitting by the canal watching the river. The food was also amazing. Farm (or garden) to plate, the freshest vegetable, seasonal, delicious and so beautifully presented.Simple but with some genius twist like the Persimmon Gratin with some roasted goat cheese on the top.The owner, her daughter (I guess) and their friend, where so friendly I couldn't ask for a warmer, kinder, more service-oriented team.I will definitely come back, but with family this time.

I stayed here on a trip around Kyotango. Located in quiet Kumihama Bay, it is conveniently located near the station. It's a lovely wooden cottage with a small vegetable garden, making it ideal for someone like me who longs for a slow life in the countryside. The interior is simple, with the warmth of wood, very bright and clean, and everything is tasteful. Rooms facing the river have full glass windows facing the river, allowing you to enjoy the river view. The food looked interesting and the seafood and especially the home-grown vegetables were very delicious.

It is located near Kumihama Park in Kumihama, next to the river.I used it for lunch. Please note that only reservations are accepted.Relaxing music was playing inside the store.I think the menu is seasonal. This time it was vegetable soup, bread, squid carpaccio, seafood paella, and dessert. The bread was chewy and delicious. In the squid carpaccio, the squid itself was sweet, and the sauce brought out the flavor of the ingredients. The seafood paella was a luxurious paella with plenty of firefly squid, shrimp, and shellfish. In particular, the shrimp had no odor and was delicious. For dessert, I chose something like pudding and fruit, and for drink, I chose cappuccino. The strawberries were very sweet and it was a delicious dessert. The price was 4,400 yen per person. To be honest, I think it's a little expensive, but I thought it would be a good place to eat on a special occasion because it's in a location where you can eat while watching the river flow, and you can eat in a relaxed manner with reservations only and no people coming and going. I also think they use quality ingredients.Various barcode payments and credit cards can be used. Apparently there is also a 2,200 yen course. You can also purchase various stylish goods such as coffee and cups in the store. It seems possible.
