I visited this inn because I was able to stay at a good price during the coronavirus pandemic. We were welcomed by the powerful sound of taiko drums, and the room was very atmospheric and wonderful. The bathroom was also clean and very satisfying. However, there was one thing that was very disappointing. The food we had for dinner was wonderful, with seasonal river fish sashimi and hearth dishes, but when the foreign waiter brought a hot bowl, he dropped it and it got on my mother's clothes. I did. Failure is inevitable, but the subsequent response was very poor. Even though the waiters around them had witnessed it, no one tried to follow up on the foreign waiter, as if they were not going to get involved. The foreigner didn't even bother to get a towel and looked very upset. I told him it would be okay on the spot, but since I couldn't provide initial support, I ended up with a bit of a stinging burn. There was no word of concern when I checked out, and no apology. The reason why I decided to post this now is that I am currently working in a hotel-related business. This is because I have now reconfirmed that that response was abnormal. I think collaboration within the company should be made smoother. Although I will probably not stay at the inn again, I would like to make a post because I would like to see other guests treated in a considerate manner.

The hospitality of the staff was underrated! They greeted to us once our car entered the hotel. The staff helped us to move our luggages, which were very heavy, to our room directly. The hotel is ancient yet very warming. …

I stayed there twice, once in the winter and once in the summer, and it was great. The inside of the hotel was very clean and had a traditional Japanese atmosphere, and it was a space where you could truly feel the beauty of Japan. All the staff are kind and attentive. The food was very delicious and satisfying. All dishes are made with plenty of fresh ingredients and have elaborate flavors. The hearth dishes, such as grilled sparrow and salt-grilled sweetfish, were especially delicious. The suspension bridge leading to the restaurant also has a great atmosphere. In addition, the open-air bath had a spectacular view, and we were able to spend a luxurious time while enjoying the seasonal scenery. You can enjoy the hot springs in the large public bath from check-in to check-out.You can also enjoy an open-air bath with natural hot spring water in your room. There is plenty of nature around the inn and I enjoyed walking around.I was able to forget about everyday life and refresh my mind and body, and I would definitely like to visit again.

Wonderful ancient and authentic ryokan where you immediatly are thrown back into the past. The staff ist outstandingly friendly and helpful. The sight of river and the green mountains with hidden monkeys and bears is beautyful and relaxing. A little town with shops, restaurants and a small supermarket is nearby. Thank you for the great experience.

This is a truly special stay.It feels like history coming alive, decorated and kept with love and pride. The traditional rooms are incredible, everything is both beautiful and clean, yet immersive in its historicity. The location is wonderful, with a gorgeous river and mountains as far as the eye can see.Staff go above and beyond to accommodate requests, even day-of, specifically regarding the traditional cuisine, which is prepared with the utmost care. It's the highlight of the stay, even if we were not able to appropriately appreciate it fully. The onsen is another highlight, kept in perfect condition and designed beautifully. This is truly the perfect place to rest and recharge, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
