We found this magical little farm-stay, 90mins north of Kyoto.A truly unforgettable experience spending a few nights in a 200+ year old, Edo-period thatched roof house that had been in the hosts family for 20 generations. The local area was amazing with plenty of gems to find and explore. Thank you for having us Yoriko 🫶🏻

We had dinner by the hearth and had a great time with the friendly owner who welcomed us!Even in the morning, there is a clear mist that makes it very mysterious. This is a recommended guesthouse!

Even though it was my first time there, the thatched house and the warm atmosphere around it made me feel nostalgic for some reason, and it was really nice.Although it was a short trip of two days and one night, I had a great time playing in the river, collecting vegetables, collecting eggs, and experiencing the surrounding nature. It was a lot of fun.I look forward to working with you again if you have the opportunity.

I had always wanted to stay at a thatched-roof inn, but I didn't know it was only an hour away from Kyoto. At Hororon, we enjoyed staying at a farmhouse inn, listening to stories about Keihoku's history and culture, and having a fun meal with local chicken dishes and drinks in the hearth. In addition to staying the night, I was able to experience grass cutting, collecting eggs from chickens, walking in the surrounding countryside, and walking around Joshokoji Temple, so I had a fulfilling time every day. Best of all, our hosts Yoriko and Seiryu treated us warmly and made us feel like family, making it a week that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
