I left here this morning with a couple of friends I'm travelling with! The hostel is in a beautiful location near the lake, with a very homely feel. The host is more welcoming, informative and friendly than anybody I've ever met and he's poured is love and dedication he has for Nikko into his life and hostel. Honestly the most wonderful time here, we were all a bit sad not to have stayed longer! Brilliant 🫶🙌

Okunikko Guesthouse Jun was an absolutely great stay. Host Takeru provided a warm, helpful, and wonderful hospitality while I was here. He even drove us to the konbini when we checked in late and everything was closed.The guesthouse sits beside a beautiful view of the lake and is extremely clean. It's a great getaway for anyone who'd like a quiet time from the city. Just take note that most shops closes at 5 pm but don't worry because you can cook in the kitchen provided for all guests during the stay.

The owner was very kind!The guest room, toilet, and shower room were clean and had a stove.Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the rooms were separated by toilets and shower rooms with names on them, so I felt safe using them.There was only one small supermarket nearby, so it was a bit inconvenient to go there to buy something.You can rent towels, toothbrushes, etc., and there are hair dryers, shampoos, etc.

Good, clean, 1 room has 5 beds, bedroom and men's bathroom are separated, there is a barbecue place too, suitable for staying together. Complete kitchen equipment, providing curry rice and cup ramen which we can buy there too, so it's very helpful, because at night after 8 pm almost no shops are open, even konbinis are closed. The most affordable prices in the surrounding area.

It's in a convinient place, and high C/P.It provides many necessary things here, like microwave, refrigegator, drying yard and foods if you don't prepare it.It's a pity that the kitchen is not allowed to be used currently due to coovid-19.But, it's really good if you just want to go hiking.Especially when you have 2 or more people.

I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days in early December. Since it's new, the shared spaces such as the toilet and shower were very clean and comfortable. The dormitory also has a stove, so you don't have to worry about it even in cold weather. There is also a wonderful fireplace in the living room, so I think the best part of winter is being able to relax and warm up with other guests. Above all, the view of Lake Chuzenji from the large windows of the guesthouse is soothing. It was my first time in Oku-Nikko, and the owner kindly told me about tourist attractions and restaurants. There are activities depending on the season, so I would definitely like to come in other seasons next time 😊 Thank you for the 3 days. I will come again ✨

It was very clean, warm and comfortable.From the window, you can see Mt. Hangetsu over Lake Chuzenji, Asegata Pass on the Old Dochuzenji Road, Mt. Shayama, and Mt. Kurohi.Oku-Nikko in the off-season is highly recommended.The quiet Lake Chuzenji, Senjogahara covered in hoarfrost, and in my case, climbing the snowy mountains around Mt. Nikko Shirane and Mt. Shayama, were the areas I wanted to stay in during the winter, so I was all set.(^^ ♪I would like to use it again as a base for mountain climbing and photography, I feel like I have found a base camp.This time, at the end of the New Year's holiday, I wandered around the mountains for a while, took a snowy bath at Yumoto, and visited on the way back.It was the best to welcome a winter morning in Oku-Nikko.It is also best to use it for events at Futarasan Shrine with Mt. Nantai right in front of you.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time surrounded by a warm fireplace and warm people 🥰 We all drank hojicha while looking at Lake Chuzenji from the window ❤️ The owner knows a lot of people, so , I'm looking forward to a fun encounter 😊 I want to go all season 👌

The best place I stayed in Japan! Great location at the foot of Mount Nantai and 1 min walk from the lake. Amazing hiking and sightseeing is possible from the doorstep. The bus between Nikko and Yumoto Onsen stops right outside the hostel door. Very friendly and helpful owner - great to meet you and your brother.
