Stayed for 2 nights in an executive twin room with dinner and breakfast included.I made a reservation through Ikkyu and paid about 210,000 yen for 2 nights. In conclusion, I cannot recommend it at all.I'm posting this so that no one feels the same way I do.①Guest roomA large room of 60 square meters, just like the photo. It's a room where you take off your shoes before entering the room, but the dirt floor at the entrance is narrow and doesn't match the size of the room. The reason it's so small is because this hotel is a renovated inn.Due to the Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred in April 2016, the Aramaki Ryokan that was being run at the time went out of business. From there, it was acquired and renovated by another company and opened in October 2021.It's good to renovate, but I get the impression that it's just a surface fix.The room was just large, nothing luxurious, and there was no towel dryer.By the way, the building is a two-story building and the guest rooms are only on the second floor. The stairs are steep, but there is no elevator.②Customer serviceI felt his polite attitude. However, around 9pm, I went to the front desk to return the towels for the private bath and rang the doorbell for about 5 minutes, but no one came out.I understand that they are limiting the number of guests as it is not a large hotel, but I found it a bit questionable. Also, when I came out of the private bath, an employee walked up to me, but when I bowed to him, he left without saying a word.③FacilitiesThis is the biggest problem. As mentioned earlier, the inn was renovated, and evidence of this can be seen everywhere.I don't mean to criticize old inns, but this hotel, despite its high-class appearance, is a clunker. As others have pointed out, the hot water in the public bath is lukewarm, and although it is clean because it is cleaned, it does not match the image of the hotel. It would be understandable if this hot spring was available at an old-fashioned inn, but I can't imagine it considering the price and the appearance of the hotel. It remains as it was when Aramaki Ryokan was in operation. If you search for Aramaki Ryokan on YouTube, you will see footage from that time.On the other hand, the private bath was newly built and clean, and the heat was just right.Wouldn't it be better to operate only as a private bath until the public bath is closed or renovated?By the way, there is no toilet inside the private bath. The club lounge was terrible, with only a few types of foreign sweets and drinks, and the air conditioning wasn't working, so I felt like it shouldn't be called a lounge. The chocolate was melting because it was too hot. There is no light meal listed, only macarons. There was commercially available soy milk, but the expiration date was one month past.As I was drinking it, I noticed that it tasted different from my usual taste. Also, Ikkyu states that there is an afternoon tea time for those staying multiple nights, but there is nothing there, so I honestly think this is a scam.Although it is stated that there is a dedicated staff, there was no such system. It was supposed to come with a welcome drink, but there was none.I have attached a photo from the Ikkyu website. The pool is as shown in the photo, but the lockers were in storage and could not be used.Another small pool under the pool? Jacuzzi? There was something like this, but it was not used because there was a desk etc.It would be understandable if it was winter, but it was mid-September.④MealsThis is the point that can be evaluated the most.It was a full course meal using local red beef and yamame trout, and it was very delicious. The plates were elaborate and I enjoyed it.⑤Satisfaction levelAs stated in the title, the price and content are not commensurate with each other, giving the impression of being a bit underwhelming. This time, I paid a total of 210,000 yen for two nights by using Ikkyu points immediately. It's difficult to stay above 100,000 yen per night. If you're in the Kyushu region in a similar price range, ANA Beppu or Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka are better options. There are also many other good accommodations in the Aso area, so it would be better to use them. There were some parts, such as the afternoon tea issue, that seemed to be fraudulent, so I would like a refund, and I think Ikkyu needs to immediately review the content posted. It's scary, but even after criticizing it so harshly, when I look at the photos, I feel like it's beautiful and I want to stay there.Just looking good is fine.I don't deny the concept of the hotel, but I'm not satisfied with it because the price and content don't match.I believe that the reason why there are a certain number of people giving high ratings is because, unlike guests like me, there are many people who only use the private baths for day trips or visit the restaurant. If you check the reviews carefully, you will find some bad reviews. It was foolish of me to decide on a place to stay based only on the good-looking photos and most of the reviews without checking these details.

A truly fantastic hotel. There were some poor reviews, so we were a bit hesitant in advance, but these are not justified. What a fantastically beautiful place. Luxurious appearance, a combination of Japanese and Western style, with a beautiful swimming pool with beautiful views, but also very nice onsen. The hotel is located on a road, but we were not bothered by that for a moment. The hotel has a restaurant where you can eat al a carte, which was a successful meal for us. Extra credits for the lovely host who showed us around the area.

We had an amazing experience here. The hotel is brand new and incredibly stylish and beautiful. We had a room with an amazing view of the valley. The staff was very kind and helpful, even brought us a map with some of his recommended highlights. The private onsen was really nice, with an amazing view as well. It’s free to reserve for an hour.Dinner was great as well, it was nice to have a good western style dinner for once!

I used the private bath. The open-air bath overlooking the mountains of Aso is the best. It's nice to have two baths. It has the atmosphere of a luxury hotel, but the price is not that high, so I recommend it.

This is my first visit. The lobby area has a resort-like atmosphere, with a pool, sofas, and tables, and you can drink alcohol and soft drinks freely until after 5pm.The staff is also very responsive and polite when serving customers. This place has a great view and is great for relieving stress. It's a sight to see at sunset. The food was also luxurious using local ingredients. The breakfast was so delicious that I felt like I ate too much (^-^) The rice in Kumamoto is especially delicious! The room seemed to have a small space, and there was no sofa, so I was a little disappointed that I had to relax on the bed. The bath in the room didn't have a bathtub, so it was a shower room.Is it a good thing that there was an overhead shower? The private bath was hot water with a strong iron content. Does it feel like touching an iron bar? It smells like steel rust. But it wasn't bad, the hot water was good.

・First of all, the food is delicious. However, I wonder if I'm too conscious of the ``attractiveness'' of the tableware I serve each time. (Although it is certainly beautiful.)The staff were quite inexperienced and their response was noticeable. I went to breakfast at the designated time, but the meal didn't start until about 20 minutes later. Also, the water I drank with my meals was indescribably bad. I guess the people at the hotel don't think anything of it.・Private baths are much better. (The first time was free) It's spacious and has a nice view. So I went to the public bath with even more expectations, but I was disappointed as it wasn't very impressive and the open-air bath was closed (there was no prior explanation about this...).・There was a 40cm difference in level between the bed and the rest of the room, which was quite difficult.・The stylish interior is just like the beautiful photos on the website, but when we arrived, I couldn't help but take a second look at the shabby exterior of the entrance.Once the staff gets used to it and you don't have to wait anymore, I think it's worth staying there because the food and private baths are really good.(It might be a good idea to do something about the severely dead tropical plants on the back side.)Check-in is 16:00 and check-out is 12:00.

I used it in a private bath. Free towel rentals and plenty of amenities so you don't have to bring anything.I don't like hot springs that are too hot, but the temperature here was just right and it was easy to enter. Unfortunately, it was a rainy day, but I had a luxurious time with the sound of the rain, the clouds, and the greenery.

Our stay at this resort hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Ms. Saito was incredibly nice and attentive, always greeting us with a warm smile and making sure we had everything we needed. The hotel itself is amazing, with quiet rooms that ensured a restful stay. The private and public onsen were simply fantastic. Not forgetting the full-fledged kitchen was a great convenience, allowing us to prepare our own meals with ease. Highly recommended! 100 stars if possible! 🌟
