Simple, old-fashioned minshuku with kind hosts in an old farm house. The secluded location surrounded by hills and forest is very beautiful. Turn right out the front to walk through the valley along the paved tracks next to the rice fields and chestnut trees for a sunset walk.

I visited with my family of 5! At first, my children were only 3 or 5 years old, so I wondered if I could take it easy. That's what I thought, but the landlady and her daughter were very kind and polite, and I was able to spend a very relaxing time! thank you very much.Sorry to bother you again. Thank you for the fireworks and watermelon split. It became a good memory of summer.

If you are visiting the Kikuchi Valley and Aso area, this is a hotel you can consider. This is a hotel that surprised us. The typical ancient house decoration, the quiet rural atmosphere, and the friendly and warm Emi san hostel left an excellent impression on us. I want to bring my parents to stay here next time.

I really enjoyed my stay, the location is great if you want to visit the Kikuchi gorge. Only 15 minutes away! The owner was very kind and cooked a really good dinner. I highly recommend to try it!Rooms are quite spacious. If you want to experience the charm of an authentic old Japanese home this is the place. Prices are very affordable too. I’ll stay again if I come back to this area.

I would like to inform you that the stairs leading up to the rooms on the second floor are not safe. This is an inn that doesn't think about safety at all.I was looking for a place to stay near Kikuchi Valley and it had high reviews on this site, so I made a reservation.I couldn't get there using the navigation system in my rental car, so I took a little detour. From Route 387, we entered a narrow road with a sign for Tsubaki-an, and after a while we arrived at a small village. The inn was a renovated old private house. The Tsubakian staff welcomed us politely. It was just us that day.I was shown a room on the second floor that had been renovated. To get to my room, I had to climb a narrow, steeply angled staircase. It was difficult because I brought a heavy suitcase. The room was a three-room suite with a renovated bed in the back. The arrangement of rooms seemed a little strange. The bathroom had an old-fashioned stainless steel bathtub. The washroom was quite unsanitary as the cleaning brush was left out. There were no cups, just a paper cup in a plastic bag, but I didn't use it because it seemed unsanitary.I think the meals were delicious, both in the morning and in the evening. There was also quite a bit of volume. This time when my wife was coming down the stairs, she slipped and fell because she was wearing socks and the stairs were made of old-fashioned wood. After returning home, I discovered that two fingers on one foot were fractured. The hostess was right in front of me when I got injured, but they never asked me if I needed to go to the hospital. They just provided us with a ship and ice upon request. As a hostel, it was not the right thing to do while leaving injured people out.Even though it was a private house, as long as it was being used as a lodging, safety had to be considered, but there was no sign of that at all.It was a very disappointing stay and I would not be able to recommend it.

When we arrived, we first had tea and yumochi. They provided free meals for the children in the morning and evening. It's especially good if you have children. The rice is also delicious. The amount is just right, not too much. You can change your meal.We even had fireworks and watermelon discounts. You can enjoy an atmosphere that is hard to find in the city. It's kind. It's relaxing. You can use Wifi. The stairs for the room on the second floor are quite steep. You can use PayPay.
