Located directly on the beach promenade and near the ancient district of Sanchomachi, Haus Sawa is in the very best location in the small town of Obama. It is a gem that I will return to again and again. Service and cleanliness are perfect and Ms. Sawa would be a star chef in Europe with the license to offer fugu here. But everything else she offered us was of the highest taste - not to be missed if you visit Obama! The prices have increased, but the special experience of spending the night here on the tatamis with the sound of the sea is worth every yen!

Accommodation costs differ depending on whether you're facing the sea or the mountain, and the specifications of the rooms are also different.The mountain side is cheaper, and there are no indoor toilets, baths, or sinks.If your main purpose is fishing and you want to stay cheaply, this is the place for you.The ocean side is a little more expensive, but there is a unit bath (bath, toilet, washbasin). If you have children and don't like public baths, but want to see the sea, this is the place for you.It is best to check the final details on the website etc.The electricity in the room is turned on by a card and turns off when the card is removed, typical of a business hotel.The problem is that the air conditioner and refrigerator (in other words, the electrical outlet) also turn off.The large baths are on separate floors for men and women. Four adults can stretch their legs in the bathtub.Dinner is mainly seasonal fish. Although it's not pictured, it comes with rice, fish and miso soup. delicious. You won't be dissatisfied as it will fill you up.This is not limited to this topic, but unlike hotels, guesthouses are everywhere.The soundproofing is poor, so even if you speak normally, your voice will leak to the person next to you.Be considerate of other guests and be quiet, especially at night and early in the morning.

Use at workThe Japanese-style room facing the mountain has a TV and a fan.There is an air conditioner, but it doesn't work very well.Refrigerator, bath, toilet, and washroom are shared.Procuring food within walking distance is difficult.

We stayed here for one night as part of the "Honshu Traverse Aomori-Shimonoseki 1,550km Foot Race 2022".Both the husband and the landlady were wonderful people (^^♪For those who want to take part in the foot race across Honshu, the cost is no different from nearby lodging facilities, and it is on the course, so it is definitely recommended! (^^)!There is free Wi-Fi, and even though it is a "minshuku", the building is new, so the rooms, flush toilets (shared toilets with washlets), bathrooms, etc. are very clean, and there is an "empty" refrigerator in the room. I had to wash my uniform every day, so having a coin laundry (with a washer and dryer) was very helpful.I only had dinner because I left early in the morning, but I thoroughly enjoyed the taste and quantity.
