Everything at this place is so beautiful, my room was so very nice with the best view and the beautiful sound of the waves. So peaceful and the most amazing area of ocean and mountains. The food was so fantastic, I enjoyed it so much! Also the staff was enormous friendly, service minded and helpful - thank you so much for being so welcoming and taking you good time to talk to me even that I don’t speak Japanese.Thank you for a perfect stay!

October 9th-10thSwimming has just finished, and the coast is quiet.I stayed for one night enjoying the pleasant breeze. He was originally an octopus fisherman,I feel attached to small towns with intricate terrain. The accommodation building has also been beautifully renovated. It felt modern everywhere. It conveys the spirit of using old things with care. The Shizumi coast is where garbage from the Sea of Japan gathers.Although it is a problematic place, it also has a problem with garbage. There is also a heart-warming feeling in the attitude of facing the problem head-on.The food was made with plenty of local ingredients. The course will fill you up,It was a well-planned dish that ended up taking about 3 hours.I enjoyed the food and conversation. While I can hear the sound of waves. I went to bed at 10 o'clock. Sleeping until 8am.Breakfast is a delicious fish dish in the pleasant morning sun.It was very slow. It's a quiet inn and I would like to come back again.Above all, Fukui is so convenient and has so many things to do!

I used it for my mother's birthday trip.Even though we had made a last-minute reservation for our stay, they kindly took care of ordering food for us in our room and preparing a surprise cake for us, so we were able to spend a wonderful time with our family. The food was very delicious with lots of seafood, and I was satisfied with the quantity. There was also a sandy beach and a fishing port just a short walk away, so I was able to enjoy a leisurely vacation by taking walks in the evening and morning, observing sea creatures, and picking up sea glass. I had a lot of fun talking with the staff at the shop! I would like to use it again when I go to Hokuriku. thank you very much.

Anyway, the food was amazing! It was a full course meal that took 3 hours, and everything from the appetizers to the final dessert was delicious. I was also impressed with the anniversary dessert plate. The hospitality itself was simple, as you would expect from a former guesthouse, but you could hear the sound of the waves from the room, and there was no TV, so it was very relaxing. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is not bad! However, the food is a bit average for an auberge. When you think of a guesthouse, you probably think of this, but if you call it an auberge, I want you to be more surprised by the food.

A simple and lovely auberge facing a small sandy beach at the back of the cove.I stayed on the 1st floor sea side of Kyubey in late January.I feel that here is a new style of Japanese guesthouse that has its roots as a fisherman's guesthouse. The room we stayed in was a tatami room with a wide veranda, and beyond that was a quiet Shizumi cove. It's winter in the Sea of Japan, so it gets cold on the porch due to the outside air, but there's a small kerosene stove that will warm you up.At night, I could sleep comfortably with the air conditioner in the tatami room by turning off the stove and closing the shoji screen. The entire building, including the baths and toilets, has been tastefully renovated. There are some parts of the property, such as the aluminum sashes in the rooms, that reflect the age of the building, but for those who enjoy the lingering impressions of the good old minshuku culture, we recommend this as the perfect hideaway where you can also enjoy delicious food. The friendly and courteous service of the staff, who also works as nature guides, made our stay here even more appealing. It was a really fun time as we talked about the aquarium and the nature around the inn, biodiversity, musical instrument making, and DIY.Meals are served at a restaurant a few doors away.A comfortable restaurant that has been renovated in a modern Japanese style. The carefully prepared food, based on the concept of local production for local consumption, was very delicious and went perfectly with the local sake on the drink menu.I'm thinking of stopping by a liquor store on my way home to get Wakasa Daiginjo. It's almost 10 o'clock check-out time, so let's go home (lol)I had the impression that the Sea of Japan in winter would be cold and harsh, but through my stay here I was able to feel the warmth and strength of the people who live facing the sea in Wakasa.I want to dig deeper into this area.thank you

Two women stayed here for one night on August 25-26, 2023. We were welcomed by kind and courteous staff. There is Shizumi Beach in front of the inn, and we took a walk around the beach and Shizumi village before dinner. The water at Shizumi Beach was so clean that I could see fish swimming around. We also found a small squid. The village has a calm, nostalgic atmosphere, and I enjoyed a leisurely stroll. The dinner, which I was looking forward to since it was listed in Michelin, had a delicate and deep flavor. It was a mixture of Japanese and Italian cuisine, and I was able to enjoy Fukui's local ingredients (mainly fish) in a Western style. Locally caught squid in tomato stew, crispy grilled guji, and the signature octopus rice. Everything was very delicious. The staff explained the dishes carefully and I could feel their enthusiasm for the food they served. The day I stayed was a weekday, and there were not many guests, so I was able to use the bath for exclusive use. The rooms were simple and there was a shared space. To protect the environment, toothbrushes were not provided free of charge. The cost was around 20,000 yen per person per night, but I thought the price was well-balanced, with luxurious food and a simple room. Making everything luxurious would be expensive, so I think it's nice to have something that's easily accessible. The next morning, I was able to enjoy a relaxing and happy morning with a wonderful view of Shizumi Beach from my room.Breakfast was simply rice and grilled fish over charcoal. The ingredients were good, so it was simple and delicious. Since the dinner was very filling, the breakfast was small in quantity, but I felt it was just right.I was very satisfied with the wonderful scenery and the food. If I were to change the season or come back in summer, I would like to bring my fishing gear and enjoy fishing and swimming in the sea.thank you very much.

It was a really nice stay!I stayed at room kyubee, and both the room and the common space had a clean and stylish atmosphere. The food was really delicious, and I could tell that each dish was made with great care and attention. Both dinner and breakfast were very satisfying! All of the staff were polite, but also added humor in an exquisite way. Therefore, although it was a course meal, I was able to enjoy the meal in a relaxed atmosphere without feeling nervous. The bath was a hot spring (?) that was large enough for 2 to 3 people to take a bath together. There are separate men's and women's baths, and you have to reserve the time you want to use for each room (though you just write on a whiteboard, so it feels like it's up to the guest's conscience). The washing and changing rooms are clean! The only thing to note is that this is not a hotel, so there are no toilets or sinks in the rooms. That may be a little inconvenient...!Overall, I'm really glad I stayed!I would love to visit again 😊
