The facility has a Showa era atmosphere and is a little tired, but the sunset over the Sea of Japan seen from the bath, the fishing fire from the room, and most of all, the food is wonderful. Delicious seafood from the Sea of Japan for dinner and breakfast...I thoroughly enjoyed it. During the crab season, reservations are hard to get...This is Ken Kaiko's and Rokusuke Ei's regular lodging, and the place is decorated with colored paper and other items.

Hometown Inn KobaseKen Kaiko's regular inn, and the inn where the opening rice bowl, which has become a winter tradition on the Echizen coast, was invented.Crabs in winter are great, but the seascape in summer is also great!The food is so delicious! However, for elderly people, the amount is a bit large and they are reluctant to leave it behind.It used to be an inn where not only Ken Kaiko but also all the landlords of the Showa era stayed.Many autographed colored papers have been donated, including Kobo Abe, Teru Miyamoto, Rokusuke Ei, and Ryohei Yanagihara, the creator of Uncle Triss.

We highly recommend staying on a full moon day.If you are lucky enough to have a day with calm waves, try sleeping with the windows open (except in winter).Squid fishing boats are fishing at night in the Sea of Japan, where the full moon illuminates the waves as far as the eye can see.Immerse yourself in the sounds of waves and the pummeling of fishing boats.When you look outside, it's like stepping into a painting.The full moon illuminates the room and you can experience the brightness of the moon.Sleeping under the light of the moonlight will mysteriously soothe your body.■MealsI can recommend it at any time.I've been using this restaurant for about 40 years, and although the chefs have changed from time to time, the food is consistently delicious.I don't know where they get it, but the ingredients are good. Also, the cooking is good.In a place where you can enjoy the same level of food, the meal alone costs more than the accommodation fee, so to me it feels like the accommodation and bath are included as an extra.If you want to drink alcohol,The above is about dinner, but breakfast is also good.■Echizen crabAccommodation fees are higher during crab season.The price of crab simply goes up.(However, I think there is less profit during the lung season.)My wife's direct lineage has been selling seafood in the town where this hotel is located for a long time.Even now, we still ship a lot of Echizen crab, which costs around 50,000 to 100,000 yen per cup, and I benefit from that, but the food we eat here is not in that price range.That's the most (as far as I know).The problem is that during the summer crab season, which runs until March of the following year, the restaurant is fully booked, including weekdays.■Ken Kaiko's KaitakadonIt's expensive, but the Echizen crab is worth more than that price.The same is true for accommodation costs, but I suspect that they have not been able to calculate them.■BathIt feels old, but it doesn't feel unclean.The quality of hot water is very good.■Atmosphere/HospitalityTo be honest, it is not a hotel or a business hotel, but more like a guesthouse.The people who serve customers are not hotel staff, but rather people who are in charge of a club.The dog has been thoroughly cleaned, so please forgive him without demanding too much affection.If you destroy it, you won't find many places where you can get hot water and food.■The origins of the hotelThe restaurant, which originally served meals, became very famous, and in the 1980s, guests' cars were all luxury cars.Cultural and business figures from Tokyo often came here, and I often saw famous people there.In the summer, we used to have visitors with children playing on the small beach in front of the hotel, but we don't see them anymore.■Charging equipmentThere are chargers for two electric cars.■Guest rooms/bathroomsold. It's all about crab.Crabs came out one after another to the point where I almost surrendered, and I couldn't get to the last bowl of Kaitakadon.Considering the price of 55,000 yen per person, it would be even better if they could reduce the portions a little and make the price more reasonable.
