Picture it: October 2019, three Americans attending the Japanese Grand Prix suffer an AirBNB failure: Typhoon Hagibis literally blew the roof off the place we were staying in Nara prefecture. So we hopped in our rental Prius and drove until we found a hotel that would take us in. Alas, an oasis in the night as we arrived at this hotel which had a room available. We had no idea what to expect, but honestly it was the most memorable hotel stay I've ever had. This place is a vintage gem, a real piece of yesteryear with three notable features: 1) well-preserved vintage details 2) absolutely awesome views of Tsuruga and across the bay and 3) an incredible natural hot spring onsen. The onsen was quiet, clean, and an extremely welcome respite from the typhoon. The room was a classic tatami setup that was way more comfortable than we were expecting. The hotel's various facilities -- game room, bar, etc. -- kept us occupied until we were able to drive back for the rest of the race.

It takes about 10 minutes by car from the station towards the mountains. It is a hotel full of nostalgia that retains the charm of the Showa era. The hallways, the interior of the rooms, and the large hall all give off a nostalgic atmosphere, making it highly recommended for people in their 20s and 30s. There are no inconveniences in the facilities, and the staff are friendly and warm-hearted. There is a large public bath, and each room is equipped with a bath, toilet with washlet, air conditioning, and tea and toiletries. Because it was raining, they provided a free shuttle service to the station on the way back. It is best not to open the windows during the season when there are many insects, but overall this is a recommended hotel. Breakfast is not a typical buffet, but a Japanese breakfast that is carefully prepared for each individual.

It used to be a great hotel...I feel like I'm taking care of myself little by little. Many things still feel old.The bath was spacious and clean, and the hot springs had a great night view.I went swimming in the sea and stayed overnight without meals. The rooms are spacious, so I think it's better than staying at a business hotel. All the staff were very bright and responsive.I would like you to do your best to make it beautiful little by little. I would like to visit again.

A hotel full of Showa atmosphere. From your room and public bath, you can enjoy the view of the Reiwa Shinkansen departing from and arriving at the latest station.Tunnel hot spring…amazing! The quality of the springs and the view are great!Since I was traveling from far away, I made several phone calls in advance. The response was very kind, and I enjoyed our short conversation in the shuttle car.I would like to stay again to see that sunset view from my room again.

It's an old building, but it's full of Showa vibes, and those born in the Showa era felt nostalgic, but it was a bit scary for children. It said there was a store and game center floor, but they were closed. There are no convenience stores or supermarkets from the Tsuruga exit, so I think it's better to buy in advance. There was an alcohol vending machine in front of the public bath. It wasn't like there were 105 rooms, it was like ``Sendai'' and it was emotional. They did a great job of transporting us to and from the station and carrying our luggage. A person at the fish market told me, ``Even though the buildings in the northern country are old, the hot springs are so good that even locals go there.'' The public bath made my skin feel smooth and had a great view of Tsuruga Station.I was looking forward to dinner, but the sweet potato tempura had a core so I couldn't eat it. (Maybe it depends on the plan)l

At first, there were traces of rain leaks on the ceiling, but was it okay? ? I was worried, but all the employees were kind and the cleaning was done properly. The building looks quite old. The game corner was so old that it turned into a scary and emotional space... Liminal space... I was frightened when I saw an electric fan making a loud noise in the middle of an empty room with green patterned wallpaper.

A middle-of-the-road Showa era hotel. The guest rooms have sliding doors, tatami mats, and doors. It's super old. It's far from fashionable thoughIs it good because it has a nice atmosphere? The air conditioner and toilet are new, butEven if you turn the toilet flusher on maximumMy washlet didn't arriveHot water doesn't come out in the indoor bath for a while.I was nervous. The hot springs were good. All the waitresses are friendly.I've been working here for decades!Sisters (lol)It was lively. If only the facilities were betterI want to go again

I stayed here for one night from April 3rd. Two adults, a daughter in high school, and a son in middle school.I made a reservation for the "Takarabune" course. We had a variety of experiences and created fun memories as a family. In particular, the Nakai-san's witty and witty talk was very interesting, and I had an experience like never before. The meal isCrab dishes and surprisingly sumptuousI was satisfied with the sashimi. The bath was so hot that it healed my wife's finger, and the whole family was happy. There was a shuttle service from the station, which made it very easy to get to the hotel. Some of you may have felt uneasy after reading other reviews, but we were able to spend our time there without any inconvenience. I would love to visit you again when you come to Tsuruga.

Although it is not the latest facility, it provides a space that you can be satisfied with! All the staff are kind and courteous. It has a homely atmosphere. The location is such that you can see the entire Tsuruga Port area from your room, and you can also enjoy the setting sun from the observation bath.

You can enjoy a spectacular view of Tsuruga city from the rooms facing the sea and the large public bath.It can be seen from Tsuruga Station, but it takes about 30 minutes to walk, which is surprisingly far. It is best to ask for a taxi or a hotel shuttle.
