If you come to Bizen, Okayama Prefecture, this is the ryokan.Difficult to make reservations.Cards cannot be used for payment.nevertheless····This ryokan is a place you've always wanted to stay at, and if you want to know more about its history, check out the website. You'll be surprised. The website was updated a few years ago, but the proprietress and the young proprietress are both very nice.Once upon a time, wouldn't it be a good idea for the mayor to renovate it and turn it into a building? The story that he firmly refused the opinion and the difficulty of maintaining it...Recently, I've heard many stories that aren't mentioned on the website, such as a famous architect taking his employees to stay here this spring. For some reason, it feels like a precious home that gives you the illusion of coming back to your own home.We would definitely like to use you again next time.

I made a reservation and visited because they had a limited edition Hina Gozen. The street in front of the inn is beautifully decorated with rows of dolls. There are also Hina dolls inside the inn. After a delicious meal, I asked the proprietress to show me around the historic building, which I was very satisfied with. Many Hina dolls were displayed in shops in front of inns, in ordinary houses, and on the stairs of shrines. Limited to a limited number of days in March. That's all for outdoor exhibits that are dependent on the weather! ! It was a surprising number.

About 3 minutes walk from JR Nishikatakami StationThis is a long-established inn.Originally called EbisuyaIt seems to have originated as a shipping wholesaler. As an inn in a post townFounded in 1856,Like a tangible cultural heritage where you can stay overnight. It's an inn.The rooms are also quite formal. It seemed interesting, butIt is also equipped with air conditioning. You can also use free Wi-fi,It was a cold season, butvery quietBeing comfortable isit is complete. It's an old inn, soThere is a bath and toilet in the roomThere is not,I don't even have a room key.Like a business hotelAmenities are not provided eitherConvenience stores and supermarkets within walking distanceBecause there is,That's what's missingIt can be procured.Stay overnight in that area. There is a need.just,This is in line with inbound demand before the coronavirus. Is it an influence?Shared bathrooms and toiletsIt had been extensively modernized. The hospitality of the inn staffIt feels very nice,if the opportunity shows itselfI would like to stay overnightIt was an inn that reminded me of.

Hosted in October 2021 (second time in 11 years).A long-established inn located in Katakami, a town along the coast of Bizen City. It is safe to say that this inn continues to reflect the history of Katakami, which flourished as a port town.Lunch service is also provided.About 3 minutes walk from JR Nishikatakami Station.Celebrities such as Koan Ogata, Rosanjin Kitaoji, Renzaburo Shibata, and Hibari Misora have also stayed here. The building is a pure wooden structure that gives you a sense of history, and people who like that kind of buildings and Japanese-style inns will definitely love it.This time I stayed in a room called Yamabuki. It is said that this is the room where Koan Ogata, a scholar and educator at the end of the Edo period, stayed several times. It is made in a pure Japanese style and has a variety of designs including different shelves that make you feel at ease.In addition, the many furnishings such as Bizen ware are enough to soothe the soul of a traveler. There were large and small gardens on both sides of the room, and the larger one in particular had a nice arrangement of Bizen ware ornaments, making the storehouse stand out vividly as if it were a borrowed landscape.Perhaps because it was a wooden building like this, there were no ashtrays (probably no smoking). There are no toilets or washrooms in the rooms, but it's best to take that into consideration as it's an old building (if that's not possible, we recommend a business hotel...).However, the bathroom has been beautifully renovated, and the scarlet Bizen porcelain panels are something to behold. The food was a kaiseki meal that used plenty of local ingredients, especially seafood, and the taste was of high quality, and the quantity was just right for a kaiseki meal, so it wasn't stressful (perhaps they were conscious of the female customers. …)In particular, the mackerel sashimi that I had tasted 11 years ago was as delicious as ever (by the way, Okayama Prefecture is the only place to make mackerel sashimi). The large hall on the second floor, which boasts an area of 35 tatami mats, has a stage set up as a reminder of the old days, and events such as concerts are apparently held regularly.Above all, the numerous calligraphy and paintings displayed in the large hall will take your breath away. There is a magnificent calligraphy folding screen decorating the stage, a Japanese painting from the Edo period depicting a distant view of Katayama, and calligraphy by Tsuyoshi Inukai.Additionally, the telephone room and old telephone next to the large hall give a sense of the weight of the history of this inn and, by extension, Bizen. One of the charms of this inn is the cheerful personality of the proprietress and the landlady. Thanks to you, I had a great time.Since it is a family business, it may be difficult to deal with the details, but there is a sense of security that you will not be left behind.Since my previous visit, the bathroom and the reception room near the entrance had been renovated, perhaps with an eye toward inbound tourists, and I vaguely thought that this was also part of keeping up with the times. You could say it's a place where you can learn from the past and learn about the new.

It is said to have been founded in 1856. The building is old and tasteful, and is well-ventilated. It didn't bother me because it was autumn, but mosquito control might be difficult in summer? As I passed through the hallway, I noticed that the dog (Kuro-chan) in the inner courtyard was barking and not barking at all. The food is delicious and served in Bizen ware pottery. It's not for people who want convenience, but for people who want that kind of atmosphere.
