At check-in, we were greeted by the owner's family. The accommodation was very clean and had a simple and relaxing space. Glass fittings, which are rare these days, are used abundantly. On the day I went to the nearby hot springs, the water surrounding the hotel was also very clean. Breakfast is also very delicious! My husband gave me some tips about meditation. Thank you for your wonderful time.

The owner, who knows everything about Nishiawakura, kindly welcomed us. The room was clean, small and comfortable. We had breakfast in a room bathed in sunlight. It was a very delicious and peaceful time.

An inn in an old private house that is perfect for the calm and quiet village atmosphere. (It's also just a few minutes walk from Nishiawakura Station!)It is well-maintained and has a clean feel. The casual fresh flowers and calm interior are also wonderful. The communal room was equipped with a piano, books, drinks, etc., and we enjoyed reading nostalgic picture books and travel books before bed. It seems like it would be a nice place to socialize when there are other guests staying. For breakfast, I enjoyed chatting with the owner, Hiromi, at the cute bakery attached to the hotel while enjoying homemade bread and delicious coffee. I was able to recharge my motivation by sharing stories of my travels and hearing from people who are working hard to make their dreams come true!

My wife and I have come back to Nishiawakura again and again. The beautiful village follows a river between mountains shaded by a thick forest of Hinoki. Around the village you will find all kinds of craftsmen; carpenters, farmers, coffee roasters and bakers all put their heart into their craft. One of the true delights of visiting Nishiawakura is the hospitality that Hiromi and her family offer at Nokishita Toshokan. Each time we plan a visit to Japan, the first thing we do is to contact Hiromi to make sure that she’ll have a room for us. The beautiful, spacious traditional Japanese house that she keeps has been wonderfully restored with a cozy yet minimalist style in the guest rooms. Each morning Hiromi will prepare a unique and delicious homemade breakfast with food featuring both local produce and influences from her time traveling abroad. If you’re lucky, you’ll be there on a day when her husband Olivier is baking fresh pastries and bread to sell in their bakery.Hiromi is also knowledgeable about travel all over Japan and can help you plan other stops on your visit if you’re looking for something to do outside of the standard tourist sites.I hope that we will continue to make our annual trip to Nishiawakura and spend many more days enjoying the quiet nights, summer fireflies and winter snow at Nokishita Toshokan.

I had the best and warmest memories staying here! The inn was used with care and care, and was a very warm place filled with memories of the owner's family. The owner, Hiromi, taught us about the area, its history, and the wonderful people who live in the area, and we had a wonderful time that can only be found on a trip. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. At night, they put a hot water bottle in the room, so I was able to sleep comfortably. The work environment, including Wi-Fi, is perfect, making it ideal for remote work and long-term stays. For breakfast, we ate stylish and hearty food in a warm, sunny space (a corner of a bakery). You can have a refreshing time in the morning. We look forward to staying with you again.

The food was authentic, very healthy, ample and delicious. The hosts were very knowledgable, friendly and had a great sense of humor.I loved the house all out of natural wood, no particle board or toxic stuff that off gases. Minimalist style with no dust catchers. The morning yoga hour was envigorating and the siteseeing tours were very interesting and informative.

Hiromi and family were perfect hosts. We enjoyed a breakfast of home grown produce and fresh baked bread. I can’t think of anything which could have improved our stay. The choice of a western bed or futon is a good idea, our friends chose the beds, just for a change!|Thank you for your hospitality.
