This inn does not allow children under elementary school age to stay.I stayed at this inn during the Obon holiday. At best, it's quaint and retro. At worst, it's an old building. However, I felt that they had renovated the room and created a comfortable room. The room we stayed in was a room called "Katsura".The room had a Jacuzzi bath with its own hot spring water. This one has a window (although the view wasn't particularly good), so it's difficult for women to use it because they're worried about being able to see it from outside. It bothers me that the toilet, sink, and bathroom are all in one room, and there is no lock.I think I'd like a key to the toilet. There is a shared toilet if you leave your room.It was a tatami room, but my elderly mother was happy because it had tatami mats, cushions, and chairs and a table instead of a table.Because it was not a room mealI had to go up and down the stairs many times to go to the restaurant or take a bath.It was good exercise for me, but my elderly mother seemed a little tired.(I knew in advance that there was no elevator.)It's an old building, so the stairs are a little steep. Also, there are steps here and there.Let's put our feet up and walk (lol).Although Okutsu Onsen has very good hot water,It's a shame that the hot spring town is deserted. There wasn't even a single shop selling souvenirs. There are no shops inside the inn.You have to leave the inn to even use the vending machine (there is a vending machine right in front of you).About the food...It wasn't as much as I thought. It's deep in the mountains, so this is what it's like.I was expecting the rice (I'm picky when it comes to rice) to be freshly cooked, but...

Thank you for staying with us. The dinner had a lot of variety and was very delicious. Breakfast was simple, but dinner was extravagant, so I was really grateful. I could see the mountain stream from my room, and it was nice to have a larger space than I had imagined when I heard that the room was 8 tatami mats. The interior of the bathroom was a little dusty, but everything else was very clean and comfortable. In the large public bath, the hot water overflowing from the bathtub made me feel like I was in a hot spring bath fed directly by the source, which was very nice. However, the large public bath on the first floor, Shiko-no-yu, is quite spacious and you can relax in the nice tiled bath, but the large public bath in the basement, Kajika-no-yu, is so large that it looks like hair is growing in the private bath. So, I felt that there was a limit of 4 people in the bathtub at the same time while maintaining an awkward distance.Kajika-no-yu and Shiko-no-yu change genders every day, but surprisingly, the timing of the change is around dinner time. Dinner starts at 18:00 or 18:30, and check-in starts at 15:30. In other words, depending on the day, you can only have a chance to use the larger public bath for up to 3 hours. I didn't know about this, so I checked in around 5pm, enjoyed the Shiko no Yu, thought it was a wonderful hot spring, and then after dinner I took a bath at the Kajika no Yu and was surprised at how small it was. I decided to check out with the feeling that I wanted to enter Shiko no Yu again. Both of them have the same quality continuous lukewarm water, and I don't think many customers are that particular about the size of the public bath, but if possible, they would close the public bath at night to switch between men and women like other inns do. I wanted you to do it on time.

"Akitsu Onsen" is a novel by Shinji Fujiwara published in 1947. In 1962, it was released as a Japanese film with the same title.novelShinji Fujiwara began writing ``Akitsu Onsen'' in Okayama at the age of 21 during the war, moved to Kibitsu due to war damage, and finished writing it in Kurashiki City after the war. The work I wrote in the doujinshi was recognized by Kozo Kawamori and others, and I received requests to write for ``Ningen Bessaku'' and ``Bessaku Bungeishunju.'' In 1947, I published the first half in ``Ningen Bessaku'' and the second half in ``Bessatsu''. Published in ``Bungei Shunju''. Published in 1948 as a selection of new literature by Kodansha. The revised version was published by Shinchosha in 1949. Known as Fujiwara's early representative work.Movie [Akitsu Onsen]The main character (I) visited Akitsu Onsen five times over 17 years, and deepened his 17-year love affair with the heroine, Shinko. The model is Okutsu Onsen in Okayama Prefecture. Shinji Fujiwara lived in Okayama during his childhood and during the war. In the story, the hot spring inn ``Akitsuso'' run by the heroine was modeled after the ryokan ``Kawakaen,'' but it went out of business in 2012. Also, the cherry tree depicted in the scene where the relationship between me and Oshin-san ends is beside Okutsu Gorge, but it is actually a maple tree.castShinko: Mariko OkadaShusaku Kawamoto: Hiroyuki NagatoMikami: Satoshi YamamuraKenkichi Matsumiya: Jukichi UnoChief Priest of Funawakaji Temple: Eijiro HigashinoOsumi: SayofukukoPeople: Sumiko HidakaNewspaper reporter: Teruo YoshidaYoko: Mari YoshimuraGeisha: Mutsuko SakuraGeisha: Toyo TakahashiBar proprietress: Nijiko KiyokawaRokusuke: Yasushi TonoyamaHarue: Masako NakamuraTsuda: Shigeru KamiyamaOsaki: Asao KoikeShimamura: Akira NagoyaMilitary doctor: Tsutomu ShimomotoDark shop: Akira NishimuraMilitary: Kojiro KusanagiTaguchi KeiMutsuhiko TsurumaruNewspaper reporter: Takanobu HozumiWoman of Okayama: Imari TsujiGeisha: Chino AkikoChief Priest: Mitsuko YoshikawaNaoko: Kahoru NatsukawaTamotsu TamuraSeigo FukuokaFumio ToyamaYoshino TanistaffDirector/Screenplay: Yoshida YoshishigeProduced by: Masao ShiraiPlanning and costumes: Mariko OkadaPhotography: Toichiro NarushimaArt: Tatsuo HamadaEdit: Yoshi SugiharaMusic: Hikaru HayashiRecording: Shotaro YoshidaDevelopment: Toyo Development LaboratoryCooperation: Tsuyama City, Okutsu City[Shinji Fujiwara] Backstory and debutBorn in Hongo, Tokyo. His mother died when he was 3 years old, and his father died when he was 6 years old, and he was raised by his grandmother in his father's hometown of Katakami-cho, Okayama Prefecture (where Hokyo-ji Temple in present-day Bizen City is located). While attending Shizutani Junior High School, his grandmother passed away, and he entered Aoyama Gakuin High School of Commerce, but dropped out due to pulmonary tuberculosis. While continuing to recuperate, he worked as an editor at a magazine company, and studied under Shigeru Tonomura, who was a selector of a letter magazine, and engaged in creative activities, publishing the doujinshi ``Akebono''. He was evacuated to Kibitsu during the Okayama air raid in 1945, and after the war moved to Kurashiki City, where he published the doujinshi ``Bungakusai.'' His ``Purgatory Song'' published in the same magazine was recognized by Kozo Kawamori. Regarding the period immediately after the war, he said, ``When I was a student, I read Rilke, Baudelaire, Valéry, Romain Rolland's ``Jean-Christophe,'' Motojiro Kajii, etc., but among them, the lyrical works seemed petty-bourg, so I overcame that. I went crazy trying to do it," he said.

Used as a day bath.Although the bath was small, the hot water was flowing directly from the source. You can take a relaxing bath in the soft, lukewarm water.I was about to return home with a bad impression of Okutsu Onsen because the other hot spring I went to before that didn't suit me, but I'm glad I was able to change my mind. One minus was that there was no clock in the bathhouse so I couldn't tell the time. There is a small clock in the bathroom, but it's hard to see.I think there will be a lot of people using the bus, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a clock.

The hot springs feel very nice. You can soak slowly for a long time.My skin condition has improved. The rooms are clean, and the view from the room overlooks the river, giving it an elegant feel.
