This resort is absolutely incredible, for a number of reasons. The Amahara employees and staff deserve many rounds of applause: they were the most respectful, polite, kind, and thoughtful people ever! My boyfriend and I came from Los Angeles, and the staff did an exceptional job communicating with us, even though we only speak English. The employees took amazing care of us, and helped us with everything... and we needed a lot of help, since it was our very first time in Japan (and Awaji Island was actually our very first stop, too!) They made us feel so welcome and helped us whenever we needed to arrange transportation, which we really appreciated. This was the best hotel service ever. We are so grateful to have met such lovely and helpful people, and to have had the opportunity to stay at such a beautiful resort! The room was breathtaking, clean, and had a gorgeous view of the water. We got a Western style room with a private outdoor onsen (the onsen was a very welcome treat after our exhausting 12-hour flight). We also really enjoyed our meals at the Amahara - the dinners were exceptional! We loved trying the local cuisine from Awaji Island, that made our visit very special. We were so happy with our stay at Amahara, we hope to come back very soon!!If you are planning to visit Japan from the United States (or anywhere else, for that matter) and want a very special and luxurious spa/resort experience, we highly recommend this place.

I stayed at Yumeizumi Kei Villa Amahara. The whole experience was great, especially the red hot springs. This hot spring is different from other hot springs because it has a very relaxing effect, and it instantly healed my daily fatigue. It seems to contain ingredients that are good for the skin, and my skin felt smooth after bathing. The staff was well trained and I had a very pleasant stay. I was impressed by how kind everyone was and how politely they answered any questions I had.On the other hand, there were some things that were a little disappointing. The edges of the water bath were a bit slimy and felt uncomfortable. Other than that, it was a very satisfying stay.Overall, the inn was known for its high quality hot springs and good service. In particular, I would like you to experience the red hot springs at least once.
