2024.8.23 Day trip hot spring use 700 yenI headed to this hot spring from the southwest direction (Kitakata),The location is located on top of a mountain, so you have to take a somewhat tough path, including winding up a mountain road and descending from a paved road to a steep gravel road just before the hot springs. There was plenty of room for cars to pass each other on the downhill slope, and in fact, on the way back (this was the uphill one), there was a medium-sized vehicle. A truck came by, so I stopped to the side and let it go first. After that, it wasn't impossible to climb even with 2WD, but I did feel like the tires were spinning due to the gravel. 4WD will give you a sense of security.Opens at 10am. Arrived after 10 o'clock. The customers in front of me were three elderly men.First, pay at the reception desk in the main building. The staff will explain how to use it.This hot spring is characterized by having white hot water and red hot water.Hakuyu is a sulfur spring with the scent of hydrogen sulfide, and Akayu has the scent of copper.Neither scent is too strong, and when you hold the water close to your nose you can smell it.The hot water feels slightly runny. Red hot water makes your skin feel tight. When I checked the website, it said that although the water was added and heated, it was fed directly from the source. The white bath is an open-air bath in a separate building, and the red bath is an indoor bath in the main building.A group of three elderly men were heading to the red bath, so I went to the white bath first. As explained, the Akayu bathtub is compact enough for three people to stretch out. There are two washing areas and a small changing area. The space is just right and a little large for a family bath, so when 4 or 5 strangers gather together, it's quite annoying, for me.The bathtub in the white bath is a little wider, and I think 5 or 6 people can stretch their legs. There was also one kettle bath. The temperature in the kamayu seemed to be lower, so I mainly took a bath in the kamayu. When the weather gets a little cooler, a cypress bath might be more suitable for you. There are no lockers for valuables at either location, so please avoid bringing valuables with you. However, even if you leave valuables in your car, you will have to take your car keys with you, so you may be worried about your belongings while taking a bath.I exited the hot spring bath, taking into consideration the elderly man's movements. At that moment, two elderly men had just arrived at the bathhouse. And there were two elderly men in Akayu. (Is there someone other than the three in the mix?)In the end, I was able to make the best possible progress, but in a situation like this, my only option is to avoid crowded times such as weekends. Please consider this carefully before visiting. It's worth a visit★Afterwards, my cell phone was out of range inside the building and in the parking lot.So, if you want to spend a vacation free from your cell phone, this inn may be recommended.

A secret hot spring surrounded by forest. As the name suggests, there is a red indoor bath and a cloudy white outdoor bath.Personally, outdoor is the best.It was very soothing.

It was my first time visiting the facility for a day trip bath. As the name Akayu Onsen suggests, the indoor bath is reddish brown with a high iron content and has an irresistible iron smell. I guess it's a little hot. Next, I went outside and moved to an open-air bath a little further away. This is a milky white sulfur spring. The water is soft and has an irresistible smell of sulfur. It's a little warm and will last a long time. The view and atmosphere are great, and it feels like a hidden hot spring. It is a luxurious hot spring with two types of sources. Both are great. I would definitely like to stay again next time. However, there are many good hot springs in this area, such as Noji, Tsuchiyu, Mt., Takayu, Urabandai, and Nakanosawa. I'll visit you again.

When I visited on April 29, 2013, it was still closed. The gravel road entranceIt was blocked off by a chain. Also, please take a chance and visit.Arrived around 1pm on August 24th. I was finally able to visit. From the paved road to the gravel road marked by the signboard. Please note that it is not a flat dirt road, but is rough along the way! There are very few hot springs operated by the Japan Secret Hot Springs Preservation Association that offer day trips. As the reviews say, the facility is new and clean.Pay 700 yen per person in cash.I wrote down the day trip time, but I forgot. If you are concerned, please call the hotel to confirm. After receiving a brief explanation at the front desk, I headed to the bathhouse.Changing area is small. The bathroom is also compact.Hair dryers are not permanently installed, but you can borrow one if you ask at the front desk.2 places. I thought it was reserved for private use, but another customer came in after me.The hot water is brown-colored cloudy water. The hot spring water has a smell of iron rust. The water temperature is hot, about 43℃.The bathroom was also small, so when I tried to talk to a customer who came in after me, we got into a conversation and ended up taking a long bath.Go up first and go to the separate open-air bath. The rain is getting heavier so I quickly go in.This is a cloudy sulfur spring. There is also a pot bath. The nearby Washikura Onsen I went to before had an open-air bath that smelled of iron rust, but it didn't feel cloudy. Is the spring quality different? It seems that there are hot springs that change depending on the day, so maybe it's just a coincidence? There was cold tea in the lobby so I got it. The water was nice.

I stayed on a self-catering plan.・The self-catering accommodation fee was 5,600 yen (as of July 2024). I didn't receive a receipt or statement, so I don't know the details, but I think it includes the bathing tax.・The room was a 12 tatami tatami room (one tatami mat was in the closet). There are no keys. It doesn't cost. There is a parking lot outside the window.・Toilets are shared. It was very beautiful.・Free Wi-Fi is available. When I stayed there, the download speed was 300Mbps.・The only amenities are sheets and pillowcases. There are no towels, bath towels, toothbrushes, or yukatas. If you add a yukata as an option, it will cost 350 yen.・The stove in the self-catering area is a cassette stove. You must bring your own cylinder. If you buy it at the hotel, it costs 500 yen each.・You can use the microwave and communal refrigerator for free.・There is no time limit for the indoor bath (Akayu).・You can use the open-air bath (white water) from check-in until sunset, and the next morning from 6 a.m. to check-out.I love red hot water, so I enjoyed it many times while dyeing my towel bright red. thank you very much.
