I stayed in a dormitory room at heso camp for one night. The interior was very clean, the location was good, and it was a comfortable stay. Also, I forgot my mobile battery, but they kindly shipped it to me with cash on delivery, which I was very grateful for.I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Miyoshi.

There was only a shower, but it was a private room, very cheap, and I was able to cook for myself! It was a hassle to stay in places where the nearby convenience store closes early, where the accommodation is far from the parking lot, and where restaurants are far away, but it's cheap. However, in winter it is drafty and a little cold.

10-15 minutes walk from Awa-Ikeda Station.Bicycle rental and laundry are free. The first floor of the house is a dormitory, and the second floor is a private room.Since it is a detached house, there is only one bathroom. The common space is very spacious, and although the facility itself is old, it has been renovated and is very clean. When I stayed there, it was almost reserved, so it was very comfortable. There is a kitchen fully stocked with dishes and spoons, so you can prepare your own meals. This hostel is recommended for long-term and medium-term stays. It's so old that the walls vibrate when you walk, but you can't hear much noise from the next room, so it's nice and quiet. There are no staff members here. The only mystery is that it is not possible to make reservations on the same day, or that the beds were completely empty, but when I called to add another person, I was refused.

Points +: Quick feedback on booking in EnglishCheck in is at the Heso restaurant (which is very good) and the staff speaks a little EnglishIt is possible to park nearby by booking.A few bikes are available to return to the city centerPoints -: This is an old Japanese house where only travelers reside: the walls are very thin, the size of the rooms varies (ours was very small with a classic bed and an added futon, we would have preferred to be warned ), you will hear everything if your neighbors are noisyThe common areas deserve to be cleaned more, the toilets are from another era, and there is no privacy for the shower

First, I went to check in at their restaurant (HESO SALON, which btw I highly recommend, I had dinner there), then I walked to the HESO CAMP (just 10 mins away on foot). It's a beautiful traditional Japanese house. I had a huge room to myself, it was perfectly clean and I slept like a baby. The innkeeper, whom I met a the restaurant) is very friendly, helpful and also speaks great English. Very positive experience, great value for money!

A basic place to stay which is reflected in the price. We appreciated being able to use bikes however the kitchen and bathroom really needed cleaning. I would not recommend to solo female travellers.
