This is the room we stayed in this time. ↓[Room with open-air bath - Futarijime - Private terrace in the forest (Japanese-style room)]You can take the cable car to the open-air bath near the valley, and the scenery is spectacular. It was very good like no other. Also, the room had been renovated and was clean. The view from the open-air bath in the guest room is also wonderful.I was relaxing on the terrace. However, if you often go to luxury hotels, you may find it difficult that the single bed is very small and hard. 😭(The firmness of the bed and single bed are at the level of a business hotel...💦It is very nice to think of it as a ryokan with a secret hot spring,If I came here for a day trip to the hot springs, I'm sure it would have been rated 5 stars.

Located in a quiet and natural location!!The hot spring on the second floor was very nice. The wild birds (wild tits) were very cute.It would have been better if there was an elevator.Thank you for the wonderful memories!

[2015.11] Family tripI went there by rental car, but it was too remote...^^; The road is very narrow and very winding... I think it would be better to use a tourist taxi... My whole family got motion sick while going around this road... But this accommodation is in a really nice place.[2024.10]Friend tripIt's been 9 years, but it's still good. It's still a good hot spring. It's always rainy, but the outdoor bath is the best. The indoor bath is slippery. It's like a treasure in Shikoku.

This is my second time at Hotel Iya Onsen, and last time I was brought by my daughter-in-law. I can't forget how wonderful the hot springs were at that time, and I had no hesitation in choosing our hotel to celebrate my golden wedding anniversary. My husband and I have been to most of the famous hot springs in Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kyushu, but Hotel Iya Onsen is the perfect place to celebrate our half-century anniversary as a couple. The beauty of this valley, the chirping of birds, the clear air, and the open-air bath that blends with nature cannot help but captivate our hearts. The hot springs here are the best in Japan, with the smell of sulfur, thick alkaline water, and carbonated springs. Also, I can stay in the lukewarm water as long as I like. It is truly a moment of bliss.Come to think of it, the last time I came, I went to an open-air bath in the snow, and this time I went to a rainy open-air bath. There is no other place in this region that is blessed with such good weather. I don't mean this in a sarcastic way. Snow piles up on the trees and rocks, mist rises along the mountainside, and the air is clean and fresh as the rain washes away. Just imagine. On a clear day, it is impossible to see such a mysterious scenery from the open-air bath. It is a spectacular view that can only be seen because of the bad weather. The breakfast and dinner meals are about average compared to the various hot spring hotels I've been to. However, I'm glad that you can choose Japanese or Western food for breakfast.Furthermore, the staff are really attentive and wonderful.Lastly, there is something I would like to see improved. My wife has bad feet and has difficulty going up and down the stairs. With the current state of my legs, I can still manage to move around the building, even if it takes a while, but soon I won't be able to do that anymore. However, for this memorable trip, it was my wife who had difficulty walking who suggested we go to this hotel, even though she knew there was no elevator.I remember seeing a welfare facility that didn't have an elevator with a lift-like chair attached to the handrail of the stairs that could be used to go up and down electrically. I don't need a place to install an elevator, so I think it's much cheaper in terms of cost. Is there anything I can ask of you? I think it is very useful not only for my wife but also for other customers with disabilities. Also, I'm sure my wife isn't the only one who finds it difficult to get to the front row of the cable car departure button. Isn't it possible to install the same button near the vehicle entrance/exit door? The couple, who are both over 70 years old, leave it up to the Buddha to decide how long they will be able to travel in good health, and they do not want to spend the rest of their lives doing nothing and being ``shocked old people''. Hotel Iya Onsen is a place you'll want to visit over and over again as long as your body is still active.
