The location in Madarao could not be much better. Our room overlooked the slopes we skied.Our experience was enhanced by great snow during our stay.Our hosts catered to experienced skiers (we brought our own boots) by providing high end skis fitted and tuned in house for hire. Mountain passes were obtained in house and Taco Tuesday dinner attracted a host of other diners from the mountain.The building while safe and comfortable is a work in progress for the owners who have been improving things inherited year on year. Thank you for our stay Nora, Michael and Ryan. We intend to return.

What a great place, a real home from home! Nora, Will, Ryan & Emma were fantastic & made our stay really comfortable & enjoyable. Nothing is too much trouble for Nora & the team & they have a wealth of knowledge about the area. Lift passes are available on site, as is information about lessons.The home cooked food was delicious & filling & the bar was well stocked!Would definitely recommend Chalet Madarao.

Amazing experience. Nora, Will, Ryan and Emma were such great hosts, not to mention Devon who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The location was incredible, and the food was delicious. The complementary breakfast was the perfect supplement to keep any snow sports enthusiast fueled up for a big day of snow related stunts. I can't rate this place highly enough.

Feels like visiting family overseas. Very warm and friendly hosts who will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. My recent second visit noticed several improvements from my first visit. They can provide ski lessons, lift tickets, large tasty meals after a long day skiing and warm, western style rooms with ensuites.A true ski in/ski out location with spectacular views of the mountain.Travel to other resorts in the area is also easy to organise and the hosts have a wealth of information to provide.

Great hospitality, convenient location, best hot chocolate in the area and the meals are delicious and hearty. So grateful for the ski lessons from Will and Ryan which got us first timers skiing comfortably. Thanks Nora and the team for being so flexible and accommodating ⛷️😀

Australian owner and family? is being managed.Very friendly and kind,I don't understand Japanese, so I have a hard time communicating with them.The room is simple with no TV and minimal amenities.Off-course to the slope? ! There are two options: push through the forest (only for those with skiing ability) or walk to the slope.

Got a good deal on a long stay here and not regretting it. Easy the best location in Madaro for ski in and ski out, except the times when there is so much snow that the resort doesn't have time to groom the exclusive fast trail onto the slopes. You've got bigger problems than walking up the road in that case like getting stuck in waist deep powder on the groomers. Hosts are very friendly and helpful, helped me set up an office in my room and even some garment repairs. Endless advice about the resort and the whole area, they've been doing this for over 10 years, Large western style rooms with proper beds and ensuite bathrooms, great food and they do proper coffee too.

Staying at chalet Madarao was the WORST experience . The hosts made it very difficult by being aggressive and it was very frustrating to communicate any issues to the hosts . Stay at you own peril .
