Superb outfit and team at Powder Recon. They work tirelessly to make sure your week is filled with powder and you’re hitting all the best spots! Bryce, your efforts were greatly appreciated, you were always working behind the scenes to make our stay easy. Jonty, you’re an absolute sender and couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Cheers to the other young guides who led us through the powder, much appreciated. We stayed in the lodge with an ensuite bathroom, amazing room and the building is fantastic. Such a nice vibe and perfectly aimed for people wanting to get out and smash the snow! 10/10!

This is such a cosy place and renovated to an amazing standard. We stayed here for 5 nights. I was a little worried about not having our own ensuite but this wasn’t an issue at all as it’s such a small place so not many people using the bathrooms. The included cooked breakfast is a perfect way to start each day skiing. The lodge is perfectly located as it’s only 100m from a significant bus stop and the Akakura Onsen Ski Area ticket office and lift. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful! Also the office lady could not have been more helpfully!! We visited the office to get our ski bag shipped via black cat. She arranged everything for us and even found the address to send the ski bag as the website was in Japanese. She also gave us some extremely helpfully advice about transport and tips about visiting the snow monkeys. We wish we grabbed her name.We were sad to leave this accomodation and continue our holiday. We will be back!
