I went there on June 12th and 13th, 2024. I'm posting this because there wasn't much information about the preparations for getting to the island by boat.① When you arrive at the ferry terminal waiting area, unload your luggage.② Park your car at the nearby "Nonbiland Umashima 2nd Parking Lot".③ Use the cart at the pier to unload your luggage near the pier beyond the blue bridge.By the way, if you don't do this, the crew won't talk to you even if you wait anxiously in the waiting area. (Maybe it just happened to be me...)④When the ship arrives at the pier, call out to the crew and load your luggage onto the ship yourself. The crew won't help you.⑤Pay the fare to the crew in cash. The fare is 160 yen. Up to two pieces of baggage are free, but three or more pieces will be subject to additional transportation charges. In my case, I had 4 pieces of luggage and the additional fee was 120 yen.⑥Once you leave the port, it will take you 6 to 8 minutes to reach Mashima.⑦When you arrive at Mashima, you will unload your luggage yourself.⑧If you have made a reservation for a campsite, a cart with the name tag of the person who made the reservation will be prepared, so load your luggage on it and head to the campsite! Of course, this does not apply to those who have their own carry wagon.⑨ Returning is the reverse of the going. The campsite was a very pleasant grassy campsite, and the person managing it was very kind! Of course, there's also the ocean nearby, so if you're going to use this campsite, it might be a good idea to plan your own event and enjoy it! If the conditions are right, the sunset is also beautiful. Please be careful when using it during hot weather. In my experience, there are a lot of horseflies and mosquitoes. I didn't get bitten by a horsefly, but they do come close to me quite a bit. Mosquitoes are larger than the mosquitoes you usually see, and they attract quite a lot of people. It is a good idea to spray insect repellent around your tent and burn multiple mosquito coils. By the way, Onyanma-kun had no effect at all. Also, be careful with food and garbage. Stray cats come to scavenge for food and garbage. I was littered with garbage.Anyway, it's a good campsite, so enjoy it safely.

I went at the end of July. Early in the morning, I caught a Chinook using a lure at Yaeishi Beach. We stayed in a cabin. There is a fan in the room, but it gets hot during the day in summer and at night on sunny days because the logs trap heat. Air conditioning (charged) is recommended. This is a campsite where you can safely enjoy swimming on a calm beach.

It was a very good campsite. We crossed by boat and arrived by pulling our luggage with a cart. There are many section sites, and on this day there were few customers using them, so I was able to use them spaciously. The administration building sells and rents everything you need for camping. There is a U-shaped groove on the site, so you can cook over a bonfire or firewood even if you don't have a bonfire stand. There is also a hot shower which is helpful.andsunset, starry sky, sunriseIt was a wonderful view.Everyone at the facility is kind and very comfortable. To be honest, it would be helpful if there was a pick-up system from the pier. Of course you can pay a fee.

Not recommended for families with children. The island itself is a very nice place. However, the response...The person who seems to be the wife of the owner and his wife is normal, but the person who seems to be the husband has a very cold attitude towards the children. My children aren't bad manners by any means, but any small child would show interest in or touch things around them, and although I warned them every time, I was the only adult there. It was bad that they couldn't immediately stop us because we had to go through all the formalities and luggage, and we had 3 children, but every time we did that, we were treated very coldly and harshly. In the hot weather, my daughters, both in lower grades and preschoolers, got off the ship, carried their luggage, and walked the long distance to finally get there, but of course there was no word of sympathy for them. Also, I was not able to share the information that I should have confirmed with the phone call, so I had to wait again...? I don't think there are 100 groups coming a day. I've been camping for a long time, but this campground was a place I took great care of. In fact, I was confused all through the camp and for several weeks after returning home. Not recommended for families with children or those looking for regular hospitality. I'm giving it two stars out of respect for the beauty of the island.

Visited for one night in mid-August 2022.I have visited nearly 40 campgrounds in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and this was one of the highest quality. The island is about 10 minutes from the Marifu Ferry Terminal Umajima/Sagoshima route for about 340 yen.(There are signs around the parking lot, and it is free for campground users)After arriving at the island, you will arrive at the campsite by walking for about 10 to 15 minutes.A well-managed lawn site.(Tent site is 2200 yen per night)Instructions on how to use it are available in the administration building. There is a disposal site for garbage, food scraps, plastic bottles, ashes, etc. that you generate when camping, but you can take cans home with you. This alone will help reduce waste. It is fully equipped with toilets, kitchens, and showers, and is well maintained and leaves a good impression.(It's close to the sea, so if you bend down when it's large, you'll see crucian carp bugs crawling around.)There was beer, drinks, ice cream, firewood, etc. in the administration building. There is also a beach near the site where you can swim in a few minutes on foot. From what I heard from the manager, it seems like this campsite is only open for a limited time until October.I really recommend this place! ! This is a campsite I would like to visit again.PS: I used it again in October for an event with a group of friends, and it was a really good campsite. The facilities are still clean.Unfortunately, it will be closed from the end of October until spring, so I will visit again next year. Even when I was out, they kindly showed me off.

This is a campsite on a remote island that can be accessed by ferry. The fare is 160 yen one way, but if you have a lot of luggage, you will need to pay an additional fee. It was an additional 60 yen for a small carry. It's a short voyage of about 10 minutes, but it's full of an extraordinary feeling. There are no shops on the island. Cup noodles and ice cubes are sold at the administration building, so if you are unsure, please call ahead to confirm availability. All the staff are very kind. There is also a drink vending machine in the administration building. As stated on the website, it takes 10-15 minutes walk from the port. It feels good to walk leisurely and feel the sea breeze. You can rent a cart if you make a reservation in advance. You can use trendy outdoor carriers if you can load and unload the boat yourself, but if you're solo, it might be easier to rent one. I use a small L-shaped carrier with me.The site is soft with grass, and the pegs fit easily. There is a U-shaped ditch installed at each site, so there is no need to bring a bonfire stand. It burns really well. (The trivet in the photo is my personal property.) There are many twigs and dead leaves that can be used as fire starters, as well as driftwood on the beach. Mobile phone reception is good for all three major companies. The toilets and kitchen area are clean and safe to use. This is the best campsite where you can feel soothed by the extraordinary feeling of being on a remote island and the sound of the waves. The sunset view from the beach is also spectacular, making you want to visit every year. There are some inconveniences because it's not auto camping, but the fun of carefully selecting your luggage outweighs the inconvenience.

Use the liner Mashimaru. Access on foot from the pier. Rear car must be rented. You can stay longer and relax compared to other campgrounds.
