I'm glad I went.Although I came from deep in the mountains of Shimane, the journey to Suginoko was surprising. There is a temple in Shimane called Minedera, which is associated with Engyoja and Kobo Daishi, and the path to get there was similar. After returning home, I remembered that there are pilgrims in Tokushima, and I wonder if this is some kind of training for ascetics. Minedera in Shimane is also apparently a training ground for Shugendo, so it makes sense that it is a similar place. The journey takes about 40 minutes, depending on whether or not cars pass each other. The guest house is very beautiful. The windows are shiny. I heard that it opened 7 years ago, but the bathroom and washroom are clean. The separate Goemon bath was interesting. My body felt really warm. The owner treated us very well. My 3-year-old son was also there, and I threw a UNO (guest house equipment) at him even though we had just met him, but he didn't make any unpleasant faces. Even when my son was fussy, he took out the hammock and calmed him down.It was also nice that there were a lot of building blocks. The meal was prepared by an 85-year-old woman. Unusual local cuisine. There were many dishes that had a yuzu flavor. Everything was carefully made and delicious. I especially liked the sobagomejiru (sobagomejiru) (I'm sure it's called something like this). Both of them had a son and were really good people.I would like to go in the summer next time.

We stayed here as a family of 4 including teenage boys, and had a lovely experience thanks to the amazing if remote location, the house and setting, and most of all warm hospitality of the hosts. We plan to return during another season!

All I can say is that it's wonderful!I found it on Airbnb and stayed there. You can enjoy luxurious cuisine in a 150-year-old traditional house that has been stylishly renovated. What's more, I was able to stay at the hotel for a disappointingly low price of 7,000 yen including two meals. It's truly a secret inn.The 80-year-old hanging cherry tree in front of the old folk house was in full bloom, and it was even lit up, so we had a delicious meal while looking at the cherry blossoms at night 😃I was very, very satisfied with the sushi, wild vegetable tempura, and side dishes that I had prepared the night before for dinner, and the nameko soup that I prepared with the utmost care for breakfast. The Goemon bath, restrooms, and other water areas have been beautifully renovated and are very comfortable. It was a great experience to have a bonfire started in the hearth. It seems like there are a lot of foreign guests coming here, so I'd like to come and stay for a couple of nights before they're fully booked.

A hideaway in Satoyama with good hosts. It makes you forget about time. It is located in a village with a population of 3 people. The water area has been updated and is clean, and the new wooden barrel Goemon bath is nice.
