Visited on September 2024.The building itself is an inn located on the way to Konpira-san Omotesando. It has the feel of an old-fashioned inn and is quaint and relaxing.I stayed overnight without meals, but there are plenty of places to eat so I don't think it will be a problem. There was Wi-Fi in the room. There were different lines on the 1st and 2nd floors. It looked like a hot spring, but it didn't really feel like a hot spring. There is a slight disinfectant smell, heating, and circulation filtration. There was no hot water poured at all.The temperature was nice and I was able to take a long bath. There was a parking lot, but I think it would be difficult for large vehicles.I don't want to see an oncoming car on the slope at the end of the road, but at the end I make a right turn.Head towards the Maritime Museum from the main street, turn sharp left at the Maritime Museum, turn left at the T-junction ahead, turn right at the bottom (there is a sign here), and there is a parking lot at the end. It's better to look at it on Street View.I'm worried about whether I can continue like this.

Grandma is very nice. The parking lot is unattended and the fee is ¥500. After parking the car, we couldn’t find the toll office. After shopping, we used Google Translate to pay in the store😊

Located in the middle of the approach to the shrine, the building is old, there are no steps, and there are no barrier-free facilities such as toilets, but it is an old-fashioned inn.

Best choice if the purpose of your stay is to visit Kotohira ShrineYou can get a handicap for 90 steps up the 785 stone steps from Kotohira city center to the main shrine.【parking】If you are driving, you can arrive at the inn's parking lot by passing by Kanamaruza from the opposite side of the stone steps. This road has many ups and downs and is narrow, so it is not suitable for minivans or more.【building】I can't say it feels new and clean. However, considering the surrounding facilities and the atmosphere of the townscape, it is a tasteful inn.I was surprised that the accommodation book was written vertically. The TV in the room is too small compared to the size of the room.I wish they would install a larger screen TV.【meal】Well, that's reasonableNothing fancy but basic dinner and breakfast【hot spring】The men's bathtub is the size of two tatami mats. The water was a little hot, but it was nice enough to warm you to the core.【others】The mattress was thin but heavy, as if it contained lead. However, all the employees were kind and friendly, and I learned a lot about visiting Kotohira Shrine.

It's right at Konpira's lap, and you can take about 100 shortcuts. The road to the parking lot was steep, but it was free and I was grateful that I was able to park there even after checking out when I went to worship. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was so delicious that I wondered if it was worth the price.I had a private bath and took my time, but the shower wasn't warm enough.I took a bath and washed my hair. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and I could see them from my room.Wi-Fi was available, and as someone who was born in the Showa era, the inn gave me a nostalgic feeling.

[Good points]Kotohira Shrine is somewhat close. The surrounding area is prosperous and you can easily go sightseeing and eat.The people at the inn are also kind and friendly.Lodging costs are low[What I was curious about]Retro with lots of dust and stains.insects come outThe food was plentiful, but I didn't think it was that delicious. If you're traveling and want to eat food that you can't eat at home, you might want to try a different place.---There were no insects during the day, but insects kept coming in during the day even though I locked the door and used the cooler. As of May, there are mosquitoes, and I keep hearing "boom..." in my ears. Even if you crush a mosquito, new ones will appear...I killed two of them while I was sleeping, and I didn't like the sound of their wings, so I curled up in my futon and went to sleep. My husband seemed to have been fighting the whole time, and he used the light from his cell phone to crush all five of them. .Result 😭😭😭 I got 4 mosquito bites and my husband got about 8 bites too so I couldn't sleep much.I'll never go again. worst. It was painful
