Enjoy the Gennai residence in winter. Too bad there wasn't much snow. However, it was a valuable experience to be able to see a flock of swans flying over the Mogami River during a cool and pleasant morning walk (I want the coat provided, it's warm and nice!). The meals are made with local ingredients, and not only are they delicious, but the tableware presentation is pleasing to the eye. The staff also seem to be feeling the power of the local people in their work. It was a trip that made me want to enjoy autumn as well, including the surrounding mountains, the residence, and the facilities.

Coincidentally, I was able to use the hotel for private use and stayed at Beni no Yashio. The first thing that surprised me was the size of the site. I had seen it on the homepage, etc., so I had a rough idea of what the mansion looked like, but it far exceeded my imagination. I was surprised by the grandeur of the mansion, which was said to be connected to the former Yonezawa clan.We were given a room tour of all the rooms scattered on the vast grounds, and the atmosphere of the building retains the atmosphere of the time, including the armory of the time and the precious Taisho glass that remains in many places. It reminded me of a nostalgic feeling. What impressed me most was the food. The chef is a certified wine and sake sommelier, and seems to be able to provide a one-stop service from sourcing ingredients to pairing alcoholic beverages, and the dinner using local Yamagata ingredients and local sake was wonderful. We visit NIPPONIA all over the country, including Sawara, Sasayama, and Ozu, and the quality is one of the best among them. The atmosphere among all the staff was wonderful, and I was able to fully enjoy my stay without any hesitation.I would like to visit you again.

It's a nice building. The service is also nice, but there is a limit to the amount of work that can be done with a small number of employees, and it is a shame that meal times are only an option.Still, I would like to go again.

There was no TV, so we had a comfortable stay. There was snow on the ground, but it wasn't too cold, probably because I was excited by the atmosphere. In addition, down coats and rain boots were provided. The food was also very delicious. The bath was made of paulownia wood, and was very spacious so I could stretch my legs and soak in the scent of paulownia wood.

[Comfort level for one person] 95%1 hour by bus from Yamagata Station or 10 minutes from the nearest Nagai Station, get off at Asate Post Office and walk 3 minutes. There is no transportation. There are rooms in renovated storehouses scattered over a large site and rooms in the main building, and this time we reserved the room in the main building, ``Enbei''.The Japanese-style living room, which was a renovated tea room, has a comfortable sofa and is spacious enough for you to relax by yourself. There is no TV, but there is wifi so no problem. When you open the shoji screen, you can see the trees in the garden through the inner hallway and feel calm. The Western-style bedroom has been renovated to preserve the original ceiling, wallpaper, and wooden flooring. The water area is beautiful. The bath is a cypress bath with a view. Since it is fully automatic, you can always take a bath at the appropriate temperature. Unfortunately, it is not a hot spring, so I added the bath salts I had brought with me and enjoyed it. Amenities are simple, so we recommend bringing lotion, etc. Both dinner and breakfast are served at the Kura Dining in a separate building. Samue was OK, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal.At a counter seat in the beautifully renovated dining room, we ate French cuisine prepared by the chef using ingredients from the local Okitama area.It was delicious with a pairing centered on sake from Yamagata Prefecture and homemade bread made using flour from Yamagata Prefecture.Breakfast was also delicious with healthy dishes centered around obanzai from the Okitama area. The staff were very kind and it was a nice, quiet and relaxing stay. I would love to visit again in a different season 😊
